According to the General Statistics Office, in November, the city attracted 49.7 million USD in FDI capital, including 33 newly licensed FDI projects with a total registered capital of 13.9 million USD; 16 projects adjusted to increase investment capital with an additional registered capital of 27.5 million USD; foreign investors contributed capital and purchased shares 13 times, reaching 8.3 million USD.
In the first 11 months of 2023, the city attracted 2,659 million USD of FDI capital, including: 378 newly registered projects with a capital of 335 million USD; 157 projects increased investment capital with 270 million USD;
299 foreign investors contributed capital and bought shares, reaching 2,054 million USD (including 1 transaction by Japanese investor Sumitomo buying VPBank shares on the stock exchange with a transaction value of 1,500 million USD). Hanoi currently ranks fourth in the country in attracting foreign investment.
Nationwide, the total newly registered, adjusted and contributed capital for share purchase by foreign investors as of November 20, 2023 reached 28.85 billion USD, an increase of 14.8% over the same period in 2022.
Of which, newly provided capital and contributed capital to buy shares increased sharply but adjusted capital decreased sharply compared to the same period last year.
