More than 13,000 candidates taking the exam, is it overloaded?

TPO – This afternoon, over 13,000 candidates took the thinking assessment test organized by Hanoi University of Science and Technology. This is the first round of the thinking assessment test and also the first separate test organized by higher education institutions for enrollment in 2025.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Phong Dien - Deputy Director of Hanoi University of Science and Technology - said that in 2025, the thinking assessment exam will be organized in 3 sessions: January 18-19, March 8-9 and April 26-27.

The total number of candidates registered for the first round of exams is nearly 14,000 candidates, 5 times higher than the first round in 2024.

The first round was organized by Hanoi University of Science and Technology at 31 testing locations, of which 18 were in Hanoi, the remaining locations were in Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong, Nam Dinh, Hung Yen, Thai Binh, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Da Nang. This year, for the first time, the thinking assessment exam was held in Lao Cai.

Concerned about whether there would be a system overload like in 2024, Mr. Dien said that this year, the school's coordinating unit, FPT, has prepared an additional backup system, so system overload problems will not occur.

He affirmed that the competency assessment test has been carefully reviewed to eliminate knowledge that is not included in the candidates' curriculum. The structure and content of the test have been specifically announced by Hanoi University of Science and Technology in advance for candidates to familiarize themselves with and prepare.

In 2024, the afternoon session of the thinking assessment exam organized by Hanoi University of Science and Technology on April 28 had an unexpected incident that caused nearly 7,000 candidates to stop taking the exam. After that, Hanoi University of Science and Technology decided to organize a make-up exam for candidates in May 2024.

In 2025, Hanoi University of Science and Technology forecasts that there will be about 80,000 candidates taking the thinking assessment exam, double that of 2024.
