Workshop on tourism development in Lang Chanh

On the morning of August 30, the Thanh Hoa Union of Science and Technology Associations (hereinafter referred to as the Union) organized a scientific workshop to review the "Project on tourism development in Lang Chanh district, Thanh Hoa province to 2030" (hereinafter referred to as the Project).

Based on the Draft Project and related documents sent to the Association by the People's Committee of Lang Chanh district as well as the opinions of the members of the Review Council and experts, the Association has developed a research report (introduction) to serve the Project review workshop.

The project was carefully and seriously researched and developed, in which the content basically stated the necessity, legal basis; natural characteristics, socio-economics, issues related to tourism development and achievements in tourism development of Lang Chanh district in the period of 2016-2023; limitations, weaknesses, causes and lessons learned from tourism development of localities at home and abroad with similar conditions, as a basis for determining the goals, tasks and solutions to serve tourism development of Lang Chanh district until 2030.

At the workshop, the discussion opinions were basically in agreement with the necessity of developing the Project; at the same time, it was believed that it was necessary to more clearly assess the current status of tourism development in Lang Chanh district in the period of 2016-2030; highlight the natural, socio-economic characteristics and tourism development potential, focusing on the contents that have an impact on tourism development such as culture, information, sports, health, social security, education and training.

Regarding the results achieved, it is necessary to focus on evaluating the results of activities to exploit the potential for tourism development of the district in the period of 2016-2023. The evaluation points out the shortcomings and limitations in exploiting the tourism potential of the district.

Regarding the viewpoints, goals, tasks and solutions for tourism development in Lang Chanh district until 2030, it is necessary to clearly state and emphasize the development of tourism in Lang Chanh district in a sustainable direction associated with the preservation and promotion of tangible and intangible cultural values ​​and natural landscapes in the district and surrounding areas.

Regarding the general goal, it is necessary to clearly state that by 2030, a variety of tourism products will be developed in association with the advantages of localities in the district, especially eco-tourism products, cultural - historical tourism, spiritual tourism, nature exploration tourism, community tourism, resorts... By 2035, Chi Linh Mountain tourist area and Pu Rinh range will be built into a key tourist area of ​​the district and the province, the tourism industry will become a spearhead economic sector of the district, making Lang Chanh tourism one of the key tourist destinations of Thanh Hoa province.

Specifically, it is necessary to study and recalculate indicators on tourist arrivals, number of accommodation establishments, capacity; number of workers working in the tourism sector; total tourism revenue for both time periods.

The project also needs to be arranged and reorganized to ensure logic and coherence.

The comments and assessments of the members of the Scientific Review Council and expert groups are the basis for the unit to develop the Project to edit, supplement the layout, and perfect the content to ensure scientificity and suitability with practical conditions, and submit it to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and decision.
