Provincial Journalists Association deploys tasks for 2024

This afternoon, January 5, the Provincial Journalists Association held a conference to summarize activities in 2023 and deploy tasks in 2024. Editor-in-Chief of Quang Tri Newspaper, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association Truong Duc Minh Tu chaired the conference.

In 2023, the Journalists Association and press agencies in the province actively promoted the political, economic, cultural, social, national defense and security tasks of the locality. Press activities took place in the right direction, with rich and diverse information content, creating a trustworthy forum for the people. The quality of press works was constantly improved, contributing positively to the construction and innovation of the homeland and the country.

Notably, the focus was on disseminating the results after half a term of implementing the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress and the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term, tasks and solutions from now until the end of the term; commemorating the 50th anniversary of the inauguration of the Headquarters of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam on June 6 (1973-2023); the 50th anniversary of the visit of Cuban leader Fidel Castro to the liberated zone of South Vietnam in Quang Tri on July 9 (1973-2023); the 100th anniversary of the birth of General Doan Khue, former member of the Politburo, former Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, former Minister of National Defense on October 29 (1923-2023).

The Provincial Journalists Association coordinated with Dakrong district to successfully organize the Spring Newspaper Festival of Quy Mao 2023 with the theme "Celebrating the Party, celebrating Spring, celebrating the renewed homeland" with nearly 900 spring publications of newspapers nationwide on display to serve readers.

At the 2023 National Press Festival held from March 17-19, 2023 in Hanoi, the Quang Tri delegation actively participated and achieved many achievements: Quang Tri Radio and Television Station was honored to win 1 A prize in the category of impressive Tet radio and television programs; Cua Viet Magazine won 1 Encouragement prize in the category of impressive Tet newspaper covers. 1 work of the Quang Tri Newspaper Journalists Association won the Encouragement prize of the 17th National Press Awards - 2022.

During the year, the Quang Tri Newspaper Journalists Association, Quang Tri Radio and Television Station, Cua Viet Magazine, the Resident Office Journalists Association in Quang Tri, the Resident Reporters Club in Quang Tri, and the Women Journalists Club of Quang Tri province have operated actively and effectively, contributing to information and propaganda, promptly reflecting all aspects of the local situation, helping readers, viewers, and listeners nationwide and internationally better understand the land and people of Quang Tri.

Reporters from provincial press agencies and resident reporters have actively participated in press competitions and awards organized by the central and local levels. Activities of visiting and giving gifts to veteran journalists, veteran journalists, relatives of martyrs; social security activities towards the community, the poor, and students have received attention with many specific and meaningful tasks.

In 2024, the Provincial Journalists Association advised the Provincial People's Committee to successfully organize the 7th Provincial Press Awards - 2023. Mobilize members to actively respond to the Golden Hammer and Sickle competition and many other press awards. Implement a plan to coordinate with Vinh Linh district to organize the Giap Thin Spring Press Festival in 2024 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Vinh Linh Traditional Day August 25 (1954 - 2024); launch activities towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day June 21 (1925 - 2025).

Continue to direct journalist associations to strictly implement the Press Law, regulations on professional ethics of journalists, and rules on the use of social networks by Vietnamese journalists. Closely coordinate with press agencies to gather members, encourage journalists to effectively propagate the province's political tasks and major activities in 2024.

Speaking at the conference, Editor-in-Chief of Quang Tri Newspaper, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association Truong Duc Minh Tu requested the Standing Committee of the Provincial Journalists Association to prepare well the conditions to successfully organize the 7th Quang Tri Provincial Journalism Awards - 2023. Coordinate with Vinh Linh district to carefully prepare facilities, locations, and press publications to display at the Giap Thin Spring Press Festival in 2024.

The leaders of press agencies are requested to support and give gifts to poor but studious students at the Spring Press Festival. Journalists' associations launch practical and exciting movements and activities to celebrate the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day June 21 (1925 - 2024), towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day June 21 (1925 - 2025).
