Talks between the Military Commands of the two provinces of Quang Tri

Today, January 29, in Dong Ha City, the Military Commands of Quang Tri and Savannakhet provinces (Laos) held their 17th annual talks. Colonel Nguyen Huu Dan, Commander of the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command, and Colonel Kham Phong Phat Tha Na, Deputy Political Commissar and Chief of Politics of the Savannakhet Provincial Military Command, chaired the talks.

At the talks, the two sides highly appreciated the results of military diplomacy coordination in 2023. Accordingly, in 2023, the two sides promptly informed the situation and coordinated to resolve issues arising on the border, contributing to maintaining political security and social order and safety in the area; during the dry season of 2022-2023, they coordinated to survey, search, collect and repatriate the remains of 9 martyrs who were Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Savannakhet province.

The Quang Tri Provincial Military Command has organized a delegation of cadres to preserve, maintain and repair military technical equipment for the Savannakhet Provincial Military Command; closely and meaningfully coordinated the organization of seminars and exchanges between young officers in 2023 to foster friendship; directed the Military Commands of Huong Hoa and Se Pon districts to properly implement the twinning regulations, actively and effectively prevent sabotage activities of hostile forces and all types of crimes on the border.

Promoting the achieved results, at the meeting, the Military Commands of the two provinces discussed and agreed to sign an agreement to implement the contents of coordination activities in 2024 in the field of national defense and security associated with socio-economic development; exchange and coordinate common work.

Specifically, regularly grasp the situation, coordinate patrols, control and manage the border marker system and national border lines adjacent to the two provinces, at the same time, inform each other about issues related to political security, social order, build a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developing border, and constantly strengthen the solidarity of the armed forces and people of the two provinces.

Carry out well the propaganda work, grasp information, survey, collect the remains of martyrs, volunteer soldiers and Vietnamese experts who died in Savannakhet province; organize tours, exchange experiences in logistics work; exchange women between the two sides. Contribute to maintaining the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos "forever green, forever sustainable".

On this occasion, the Savannakhet Provincial Military Command Delegation presented gifts to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2024 to officers and soldiers of the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command.
