Archimedes Academy Primary School (Hanoi) has informed about a first grader being left on the school bus during a field trip organized by the school.

This afternoon, June 23, Archimedes Academy Primary School informed about this incident. Accordingly, on June 22, after students attended a summer camp in Bat Trang (Gia Lam District, Hanoi) and returned to school at around 12:10 p.m. and stopped for about 10 minutes to drop off students, the teacher subjectively neglected to take attendance when getting off, resulting in missing a student sleeping on the bus.

After settling the students, at around 12:30, the teacher discovered that a student was missing, so the teachers split up to look for him and contact the driver. At 12:40, the teacher received information from the driver and the student's mother at the same time, the driver immediately took the student back to school and arrived at 12:45.

"At this time, the students' psychology is stable. After eating and resting at noon, the students continue their fun experience program with friends and teachers," the school's announcement stated.

The school board also said: "The board met with the student's parents to apologize; and when the child woke up, he went down to see his parents in a relaxed mood. At the meeting, the student's parents shared that their child loved the school and his friends and wanted to continue studying at the school. Therefore, the family wanted the matter to stop here so that the child could stabilize his psychology and study."

On the school side, the chairman of the board of directors convened an urgent meeting of the board of directors and related staff to draw lessons and review the steps. The school board then reported the incident to the leaders of the Cau Giay District Department of Education and Training; established a disciplinary council for teachers who violated the regulations; and convened a meeting of all student management staff and teachers to strengthen control over student pick-up and drop-off activities.

"On behalf of the school, the board of directors would like to take responsibility and sincerely apologize to all parents for this shortcoming," the Board of Directors of Archimedes Academy Primary School wrote in the announcement.

Previously, in Hanoi and some other localities, there were a number of heartbreaking incidents involving students being left behind on school buses.
