" I like overwhelming, attacking football so I choose to watch teams that play like that. For example, I like to watch coach Pep Guardiola or coach Postecoglu of Tottenham, he came up from J.League.
Regarding football, I think there is no limit, there is no common way to watch football around the world. I watch every tournament to learn ," said the new head coach of Hanoi FC, Daiki Iwamasa.
On the morning of January 13, Hanoi FC held a ceremony to introduce head coach Daiki Iwamasa. Mr. Dinh The Nam said goodbye to the capital team after 2 months of working together.
Coach Daiki Iwamasa leads Hanoi team from round 9.
Mr. Daiki Iwamasa is the fourth coach of Hanoi FC this season. After firing coach Bozidar Bandovic, the capital team appointed two interim coaches, Mr. Le Duc Tuan and Mr. Dinh The Nam. Mr. Tuan is part of the team's coaching staff, while Mr. Nam is the director of the Hanoi youth football training center.
The coach said: " In December, when my contract with Kashima Antlers ended, I heard that Hanoi was interested and wanted to know more about me. Therefore, I watched Hanoi FC's match, I was confident that I knew quite well about Hanoi's players. There will definitely be pressure, but this is normal. I have lived in football for 20 years, it is my daily life ."
Coach Daiki Iwamasa won three consecutive J.League 1 championships from 2007 to 2009, and was named to the best team in all three seasons. In addition, he won the Emperor's Cup in 2007 and 2010 and the J.League Cup in 2011 and 2012.
In 2017, Daiki Iwamasa was both coach and player of Tokyo FC. Five years later, he returned to Kashima Antlers as assistant coach to Rene Weiler. In August 2022, Iwamasa became the team's head coach. In the past two seasons, Kashima Antlers have been in the top 5 of J.League 1.
Hanoi FC's form is improving after an unstable period at the beginning of the season. However, the capital team's performance in the V.League is not good enough, only ranking 8th after the first 8 rounds. Therefore, the club's management decided to look for a new coach and continue to target foreign experts for this position.
