Ho Chi Minh City People's Council holds a special meeting to carry out personnel work

On the morning of November 11, the 10th term of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, 2021-2026 term, opened its 12th session (special session). Attending the meeting were Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen; Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai.

Speaking at the opening of the session, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Nguyen Thi Le said that the People's Council will consider and decide on a number of important issues to promptly respond to the direction and administration of the government and the socio-economic development requirements of the city in the context of accelerating the effective implementation of Resolution No. 98 of the National Assembly.

These are the reports specifying Resolution 98: on criteria, subjects, conditions for enjoying preferential salary, wages, welfare regimes and preferential policies for leadership positions in public science and technology organizations and remuneration for performing science and technology tasks; regulations on fields, criteria, conditions, contents, and levels of regulations on support for innovation and start-up activities in Ho Chi Minh City.

Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Nguyen Thi Le delivered the opening speech at the meeting on November 11.

In addition, there are other urgent contents such as: adjusting the medium-term public investment capital plan for the period 2021 - 2025; adjusting the public investment capital plan for 2023; adjusting the regular expenditure estimate for 2023; on regulations on expenditure levels for making estimates for implementing science and technology tasks in the area, expenditure levels for supporting community health collaborators and support policies for drug addicts undergoing drug rehabilitation, illegal drug users detained under administrative procedures to determine addiction status at public drug rehabilitation facilities.

The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council asked the delegates to promote their intelligence, focus on discussing, analyzing, and clarifying each issue, thereby making correct decisions that satisfy the people so that important policies can be promptly approved at this session.

"This also affirms the determination to successfully implement Resolution 98 of the National Assembly, Resolution 18 of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council and the solid preparation for the city and the whole country to enter 2024 - a breakthrough year, moving towards completing the 5-year plans according to the Resolution of the 11th City Party Congress and Resolution 13 of the Party," Ms. Nguyen Thi Le emphasized.
