On December 6 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Military History Museum organized the exhibition “80 years of steady steps under the glorious Party flag”. Nearly 300 valuable documents, images and artifacts were introduced, vividly recreating the great contributions of the General Department of Politics and the role of Party work and political work in the process of building, fighting and growing of the Vietnam People's Army.
The images, artifacts and documents introduced at the Exhibition are valuable documents, kept at the Vietnam Military History Museum and some units in the General Department of Politics. Typical are: Diary of the Second National Salvation Army by comrade Dao Van Truong; The book of the Political Commissar, published in 1944; Resolutions of the 1st National Political Commissar Conference (1946) and 2nd (1948); Gold Star Order, Ho Chi Minh Order, First and Second Class Fatherland Protection Order of the General Department of Politics.

The exhibition is organized into 4 main parts:
Part 1 - Party work, political work in the Party's revolutionary armies: Displaying the process of forming party work, political work in the army, the Party's leadership role in all activities of the first armed forces; establishing the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army Team and the first achievements that left a strong mark of party work, political work, laying a solid foundation for comprehensive development in the resistance war against France later.
Part 2 - Party work and political work during the resistance war against France: The exhibition reflects the Party work and political work in the Army during the resistance war against French colonialism (1945-1954) with timely and effective contents and measures, urging our cadres, soldiers and all people both at the front and in the rear to be determined, join hands and unite, creating a victory that "resounded throughout the five continents and shook the world", forcing the French colonialists to sign the Geneva Agreement recognizing the independence and sovereignty of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
Part 3 - Party work and political work during the resistance war against the US: Displaying party work and political work in the Army during the resistance war against the US imperialists (1954-1975); the remarkable development in both content, form, method and force, contributing to raising the patriotism and love for socialism among cadres, soldiers and people; determined to successfully carry out the policy of simultaneously carrying out two strategic tasks: socialist revolution in the North and people's national democratic revolution in the South.
Part 4 - Firmly marching under the glorious Party flag: Displaying the Party's activities and political work in the Army during the period of national construction and defense (1975-1985), the period of implementing the Party's renewal policy and implementing the National Defense Strategy in the new situation (1986-2024). In particular, focusing on promoting political education, ideological orientation, building political mettle, and determination to fight for cadres and soldiers; building exemplary clean and strong Party committees and organizations; focusing on educating and training a contingent of cadres and Party members who are "both red and professional"; constantly strengthening solidarity, attachment to the people, building a solid "people's heart position" in each locality and throughout the country.

In his opening speech, Colonel Le Vu Huy, Director of the Vietnam Military History Museum, said: “The exhibition aims to propagate and educate the people, cadres, soldiers, especially the young generation about the revolutionary nature and glorious tradition of the General Department of Politics in the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland. Thereby, continuing to foster awareness, sentiment and raising the sense of responsibility of political cadres in the entire army to study and follow the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh, striving to excellently complete all assigned tasks; contributing to building an elite Army in politics, ideology and organization”.
The exhibition opens from December 6, 2024 to March 31, 2025 at the Vietnam Military History Museum, Km 6+500 Thang Long Avenue, Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi.
