According to flight tracking website Flightradar24, ANA Flight 118 departed Tokyo's Haneda Airport at 9:47 p.m. local time and circled more than an hour into the journey.

An ANA spokesman said the male passenger was detained by police after the plane landed in the Japanese capital. They did not name him. The spokesman added that the flight attendant suffered minor injuries.
This is not the first case of a flight attendant being bitten mid-flight. In 2022, two passengers were heavily fined for hitting and biting flight crew and other passengers on American Airlines and Delta Air Lines flights.
They were fined $81,950 and $77,272, respectively — the two largest penalties ever imposed by the US Federal Aviation Administration on individual passengers for misconduct on an airplane.
Several incidents of bad and aggressive passenger behavior have been reported this month — including an American Airlines flight that was diverted to a Texas airport on January 3 after a passenger allegedly punched a flight attendant and assaulted a police officer.
