On the morning of April 18 (March 10 of the lunar calendar), at the Hung Kings Temple of Can Tho City, the Party Committee, government and people of Can Tho City respectfully and solemnly held the Hung Kings' Commemoration Ceremony. Attending were comrades: Nguyen Van Hieu, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee; Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Committee.
At the ceremony, leaders of Can Tho City, representatives of departments, branches, cadres, soldiers, people of Can Tho City and thousands of people from the Mekong Delta provinces came to offer flowers and incense to commemorate the Hung Kings; perform the ceremony of releasing the five-color flag, and offer gifts to the National Ancestor.
Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, reviewed the tradition of building and defending the country and reporting to the Hung Kings. In 2023, Can Tho City achieved many important and quite comprehensive results. The economy maintained a fairly good growth rate, reaching 5.75%; the scale of the economy continued to expand, with GRDP per capita reaching 94.12 million VND. The poverty rate decreased to 0.21% (only 764 poor households left). 2024 is a milestone marking the 20-year journey of Can Tho City directly under the Central Government. The Party Committee, government and people of the city are determined to build and protect their beautiful homeland.
Can Tho strives to strengthen the work of building a clean and strong Party and political system; focuses on accelerating the progress of key projects and works; strives to develop Can Tho City quickly and sustainably, becoming a driving force for the development of the Mekong Delta region.
From April 18 to April 21, Hung King Temple in Can Tho City will open to serve people and tourists on the occasion of Hung King's Commemoration Day at the following times: morning from 7:30 to 11:00; afternoon from 13:30 to 17:00 and evening from 18:00 to 21:00. Other days are open according to the regulations at Hung King Temple in Can Tho City.
The Hung King Temple in Can Tho City was inaugurated and officially opened for people to visit and offer incense from April 7, 2022. On holidays and Tet, every day the Temple welcomes tens of thousands of visitors to offer flowers, incense, and commemorate the ancestors who built and defended the country.
