Through investigation, the above incident was recorded at a restaurant on Ha Huy Tap Street (Quang Trung Ward, Kon Tum City, Kon Tum Province).
Ms. Pham Thi Nhung, the shop owner, shared: "I have been selling here for many years and always see an old man about 70 years old selling lottery tickets passing by. Seeing that the old man is having a hard time, I often invite him in to have a drink and rest."
According to Ms. Nhung, on the evening of August 30, there was heavy rain in Kon Tum, many roads were flooded nearly half a meter. Ha Huy Tap Street is quite steep so the water flowed very fast and strong. At that time, this old man selling lottery tickets was crossing the street, the water swept him and his bicycle more than 5 meters away.

Seeing the old man being swept away by the water, two employees working in the restaurant, Ms. Truong Thi My Truong and Y Chun, left their work to rush out to save him.
The strong current made it difficult for the two girls to hold the old man and bring him into the shop. Seeing this, a young man passing by also stopped and waded through the water to find the bicycle to help the old man sell lottery tickets.
The old man was knocked over and pushed away by the current, injuring his knees and arms. Ms. Nhung and the first aid staff gave him some encouragement. After the rain stopped, the old man returned home.
Ms. Y Chun shared with reporters (Photo: Chi Anh).
Ms. Y Chun said: "Seeing the old man being swept away by the water, I didn't think but rushed out to save him. The strong current caused Ms. Truong and I to fall many times, and our sandals were also swept away. I think anyone in this situation would do the same."
Recently, heavy rain has caused many roads in Kon Tum city to be flooded, some sections with water nearly 1 meter deep.
