US News & World Report announced 21 ideal winter vacation destinations in the world, in which Hanoi ranked higher than Phuket, Thailand.
The list of ideal winter vacations was published by the American news site in July. There are 21 tourist destinations which are world-famous islands and cities. Hanoi ranked sixth, one of three Asian representatives appearing on the list.
US News & World Report introduces the capital of Vietnam as having beautiful weather when winter comes. The weather is pleasantly cold, with little rain and dry air. Winter makes Hanoi highlight the old beauty of the 1960s and 1970s.

Tourists can visit historical sites such as the Temple of Literature and then enjoy a hot bowl of pho in the middle of winter. "A trip to Hanoi in winter and spring is also an opportunity for tourists to experience traditional holidays such as Tet and Huong Pagoda festival".
Another Southeast Asian destination on the list is Phuket, ranked 10th. The famous tourist island of the Golden Temple country owns pure white sand beaches, clear blue water and towering limestone cliffs. This location is about an hour by plane from Bangkok. Travel costs here are considered cheap, with diverse services. The island has a tropical climate, suitable for winter trips. The cuisine here also has a typical Thai flavor, dishes are seasoned with lemon, lemongrass, chili and garlic.
The third destination in Asia is Dubai, UAE, ranked 16th. Topping the list of ideal winter vacation spots is the city of Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. US News & World Report commented that this place has a multicultural, multi-ethnic atmosphere and possesses more spectacular scenery than any other island in Hawaii. Not only does it have beautiful beaches, Honolulu is also home to historical and cultural relics such as Iolani Palace, the USS Arizona Memorial commemorating American officers and civilians who died in the Pearl Harbor event. Visitors can visit the Waikiki neighborhood to see the skyline from high-rise buildings and resorts contrasting with the long white sand beach typical of Honolulu. In addition, there are also high-class restaurants, vibrant cultural events and nightlife showing that this is a "melting pot" of Hawaiian culture.
Many names on the list are familiar tourist destinations such as "Christmas city" Quebec (Canada), Rome (Italy), Sydney (Australia), and the Galapagos Islands.
The rankings of the best winter vacation destinations are compiled by U.S. News & World Report based on analysis by travel experts and reviews from readers. The Report is a media company that publishes news, consumer advice, rankings and analysis. The company was founded as a news magazine in 1933.
