Looking back at 2024, Vietnam's tourism industry welcomed about 17.5 million international visitors, an increase of 38.9% over the same period in 2023. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at about 840 trillion VND, an increase of 23.8% over the same period in 2023.
These impressive figures are the efforts that the entire Vietnamese tourism industry has achieved, contributing to the recovery and development of national tourism.
Vice President of the Vietnam Tourism Association Cao Thi Ngoc Lan assessed that the special point of this year's award ceremony is the deep concretization of "green tourism" criteria in all fields, from travel, accommodation to cuisine and destinations. The Vietnam Tourism Association has synchronously deployed these criteria to 59 local tourism associations, two regional associations and 10 specialized inter-associations, creating a strong green transformation wave spreading throughout the country.
At the event, the 2025 Competition Program with the theme “Vietnam Tourism strives to enter a new era - the era of green transformation and digital transformation of Vietnam Tourism” was also officially launched. This is a strategic step demonstrating the association's vision and strong determination in orienting sustainable development for the country's tourism industry.
