Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh said the city is focusing resources on investing in building 9 more bridges over the Red River, and has decided to invest in 3 bridges.
On the morning of January 8, the conference to review the work in 2024 and deploy tasks in 2025 of the Government and local authorities was held online.
Attending the conference were General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, and Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh said that in 2024, the Party Committee, government and people of the capital will continue to unite, make efforts to implement and achieve some results.
Along with the Law on the Capital (amended) passed by the National Assembly, the Capital Planning and Adjustment of the Capital Master Plan are important legal bases, creating new development space for Hanoi in the new era.
In 2024, Hanoi city completed 23/24 targets of the Socio-Economic Development Plan, with growth reaching 6.52% (6.27% in 2023). GRDP scale reached nearly 59 billion USD, GRDP per capita reached nearly 6,500 USD.
Budget revenue reached VND509.3 trillion (exceeding VND500 trillion for the first time), an increase of nearly 23.8% compared to 2023; of which domestic revenue accounted for nearly 94%. FDI capital reached over USD2 billion. The number of newly established enterprises reached over 29 thousand, bringing the total number of enterprises in the area to over 400 thousand.
Many works and projects of the city have been inaugurated and started to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital. At the same time, Hanoi is focusing resources on investing in the construction of 9 more bridges over the Red River (currently there are 8 bridges: Long Bien, Thang Long, Chuong Duong, Vinh Tuy, Thanh Tri, Nhat Tan, Vinh Thinh and Van Lang).
The investment project to build 3 bridges (Hong Ha, Me So, Van Phuc) has been approved, and at the same time, the direction is being focused on deciding on the investment policy for 3 bridges (Tu Lien bridge, Tran Hung Dao bridge and Ngoc Hoi bridge).

In addition, Hanoi is resolutely implementing measures to handle environmental pollution with a thorough, practical and comprehensive spirit; launching the Movement "Bright, green, clean, beautiful capital", with a new approach, mobilizing the participation of the entire political system and all classes of people in the capital.
According to the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, 2025 is a very important year for the city. Based on the conclusions of the working session of the Party and State leaders, Hanoi has concretized and identified 325 tasks and plans to be implemented.
