According to a representative of the WinMart supermarket system, to serve the increased consumer demand of people during the holidays and Tet, the WinMart/WinMart+/WiN retail system worked with suppliers 2 to 3 months before Tet to increase stockpiles of goods by 20% compared to the same period last year, to avoid shortages or sudden price increases.
The last months of the year are always considered the "golden time" of the retail market, especially during the Lunar New Year when consumer demand increases.
According to the representative of the WinMart supermarket system, WinMart/WinMart+/WiN has proactively prepared a diverse supply of goods, ensuring quality and getting the best prices. At WinMart supermarkets and WinMart+/WiN stores nationwide, customers can easily find essential food items such as: rice, cooking oil, vegetables, meat... along with typical products and consumed a lot during the Tet holiday season such as: candy, soft drinks in large quantities on the shelves.
Starting to display Tet goods from December 6, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien - Deputy General Director of BRGMart Supermarket System said that most of the goods serving Tet this year are Vietnamese goods, accounting for more than 80% of the entire system, imported goods only account for about 20%.
“Vietnamese goods or products “made in Vietnam” are currently of good quality, beautiful designs, diverse and modern, plus businesses also promote well on many platforms to help consumers better identify and choose to shop,” said a BRGMart representative.
BRGMart representative also added that the prices of goods are stable at this point, even during Tet, the supermarket will launch non-profitable products such as boxes of cakes, meat, etc. to create attraction and stimulate shopping.
According to the Co.opmart supermarket in Hanoi, many confectionery, soft drinks, cooking oil, spices, etc. are on the shelves. Currently, the supermarket is offering promotions for some items.
Notably, Vietnamese goods also account for about 90% of the Tet goods structure at this supermarket. The most prominent are local specialties. It is forecasted that purchasing power will increase sharply in the days leading up to Tet.
In addition to promotional programs, many supermarkets said they also implemented market stabilization programs to ensure the supply of essential goods, stabilize prices, and help local people feel secure when shopping during peak season.
A representative of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade also said that the Department of Industry and Trade has directed retail units to prepare about 3 months before Tet to ensure the supply of goods as well as quality products to serve people in the city.
“We have also worked with distribution channels, traders, as well as retail businesses and traditional markets to grasp the needs, sources of goods, and the ability to meet people's needs during Tet.
This year, we also affirm that we will do our job well to avoid shortages of goods and ensure quality," said a representative of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade.
