Hanoi plans to reduce 6 departments and 109 rooms after rearrangement

According to the plan to reorganize the apparatus of specialized agencies and administrative organizations, Hanoi plans to reduce 6 departments, 48 ​​department-level offices and 61 district-level offices.


The Hanoi People's Committee has just submitted to the City Party Committee a plan to reorganize the apparatus of specialized agencies, administrative organizations, and public service units.

According to the latest document, after the arrangement, the city government agencies will have 15 departments, 6 less than in 2024.

These 15 departments include: Home Affairs, Justice, Finance, Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Environment, Science and Technology, Culture and Sports, Education and Training, Health, City Inspectorate, City People's Committee Office, Ethnicity and Religion, Tourism, Construction, Planning - Architecture.

With the number of rooms under the department, after the arrangement there will be only 150 rooms, a decrease of 48 rooms compared to 2024 and a decrease of 72 rooms compared to 2017.

For districts, towns and cities, after the arrangement, there will be only 300 rooms left, a decrease of 61 rooms compared to 2024.

After the arrangement, the organization of the district-level departments will include 10 specialized departments including: Internal Affairs; Justice; Finance; Education and Training; Economy, Infrastructure and Urban Areas; Culture, Science and Information; Health; Inspection; Office of the People's Council and People's Committee; Natural Resources and Environment (in districts and towns, it is the Department of Agriculture and Environment).

Compared to before, the number of specialized departments under the district People's Committee has decreased by 2 departments: Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; Department of Urban Management.

Hanoi has 30 district-level administrative units (12 districts, 17 towns and 1 town). After the reorganization, a total of 61 departments under the district-level People's Committee were reduced. Of which, 29 districts, towns and cities reduced 2 departments each, and Ba Vi district alone reduced 3 departments (including the Ethnic Affairs Department).

Hanoi assigned districts, towns and cities to complete the issuance of resolutions on establishment, decisions on staff allocation and decisions on personnel work for specialized departments after restructuring the apparatus within the period from February 18 to 20.

After receiving the conclusion of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee, the City People's Committee will complete and approve the project, submit it to the City People's Council for approval and organize a conference to announce the decisions to establish departments according to the direction of the Central Government.
