Helping students return to their studies after the Lunar New Year holiday is not only a challenge for the students themselves but also a journey that requires love, understanding and companionship from both parents and teachers.

After the fun days of Tet, students soon get back to studying.

After Tet, bring positive spirit to school

According to Mr. Bui Gia Hieu, Chairman of the Board of the Bamboo School System of Primary, Secondary and High Schools, author of the book Teaching Children in Happiness , the Tet holiday is always the sweetest time of the year. It is the warm days of reunion, laughter with family and evenings of fun regardless of time.

But then, one beautiful morning after Tet, the alarm clock rang loudly and the call "Wake up, kids, let's go to school!" made many parents feel like they were participating in a small "war" in the family.

Helping students return to their studies after the holiday is not only a challenge for them but also a journey that requires love, understanding and companionship from both parents and teachers.

For students, Tet holiday is like a "long dream" with days of fun, laughter with family and a comfortable feeling of temporarily putting aside schoolwork. However, when the holiday ends, returning to school can sometimes make them feel a bit "dizzy" as if they have just woken up from a beautiful dream.

This is the time for you to prepare yourself mentally to welcome new meaningful school days. On the last day of the holiday, take some time to review the old lessons, so as not to be surprised when returning to class.

Try to tidy up your study corner as a way to create a fresh feeling and be ready for the next journey. In particular, you should adjust your daily schedule so that your body is not tired, helping you have an exciting start.

And most importantly, remember to bring a positive spirit to school, because every school day is an opportunity for you to learn more interesting things, meet friends, and discover new things.

After the happy Tet holiday, parents and children return to their learning journey comfortably and happily.

Parents and teachers together

For parents, the most important thing during this period is companionship and patience. After Tet, children may lose concentration or become a bit "lazy", this is completely natural. Instead of rushing to urge, parents can skillfully create a positive learning environment with their children, such as preparing a neat study corner with their children in a happy atmosphere and especially having gentle, encouraging conversations.

Ask your child questions like, “What did you enjoy during your vacation?” or “What are your plans for the first week back at school?” It’s not about the solution, but about how you make your child feel heard and included. And when you’re happy with the journey, the pressure will naturally melt away.

Not only parents, the role of schools and teachers in helping students get back into the rhythm of learning is also extremely important. After a vacation, instead of rushing into heavy lessons, teachers can organize light warm-up activities, such as group games, suggestive review lessons. Or simply take time for students to share their Tet stories. This is not only a way for students to feel comfortable but also helps strengthen the relationship between teachers and students and friends in the class. The patience and flexibility of teachers are the key to helping students confidently go through the "transition" period from vacation back to school.

The author of the book Raising Children in Happiness shared more: "Parents, teachers and students themselves should not worry if everything does not go into orbit immediately. Happiness is not a destination but every moment we experience together. When parents, teachers and students all see learning not as a dry task but as an interesting journey, every difficulty will become an opportunity to grow. Remember, love is always the key to open big doors. And when parents accompany their children with a heart full of love, children will feel that warmth and confidently embark on their learning journey."

History teacher shows "trick" to catch up with studying after Tet

Teacher Nguyen Viet Dang Du, head of the history group at Le Quy Don High School (District 3, Ho Chi Minh City), shares a "trick" to help students catch up with their studies after Tet:

Be prepared : The holiday is short so you must always be prepared to start the new semester. Especially for 12th graders, always remind them that after the Tet holiday there will be an assessment exam, so don't have fun and forget your duties.

Prepare your books : Sit down and organize your bag to find your books for the day you go back to school. This will help you get used to studying after the Tet holiday.

Study your favorite subject : Ask yourself which subject you like the most and then take out the lesson of that subject to study regardless of whether it is taught on the first day or not. Studying for passion will be easier to absorb than studying for grades.

Study with friends : Discuss with friends about issues related to the knowledge you and your friends love. Debating sometimes helps you remember longer than you think. Competition when debating makes the brain secrete more adrenaline, a hormone that acts on the sympathetic nervous system, produced by the body when you are afraid, angry or excited. So obviously it will stimulate you to get used to studying.

Go to bed early : Don’t wake up late on the first day of school after Tet holiday. According to Eastern beliefs, sitting in the supervisor’s office on the first day of school after Tet is unlucky.
