This is the topic of the workshop recently organized by the Department of Industry and Trade of Binh Thuan in coordination with the Department of Trade Defense - Ministry of Industry and Trade in Phan Thiet City on March 28, 2024.
Attending the workshop were officials in charge of international economic integration of departments, units, localities, industry associations, enterprises, production - business cooperatives, import and export in the province and representatives of lecturers and students of Phan Thiet University and Binh Thuan College.
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Bien Tan Tai - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Binh Thuan province said that in the context of our country participating in many Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), it also opens up opportunities for businesses to deeply integrate into the global playing field. In addition to tax reduction incentives, Vietnam's FTA partners are all in the group of countries using trade defense tools in the world. Therefore, Vietnam's export goods in general and those of Binh Thuan province in particular may face the risk of being investigated by partner countries in the FTAs, applying trade defense measures...
At the workshop, the reporter from the Department of Trade Defense - Ministry of Industry and Trade introduced an overview of the legal process of trade defense in the free trade agreements that Vietnam participates in. At the same time, he focused on presenting the practical response to trade defense investigations initiated by foreign countries against Vietnam's export goods... Through this, delegates attending the workshop can grasp the latest information on trade defense, how to handle and respond to trade defense investigations to contribute to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of businesses as well as manufacturing and export industries in the current situation.
