Kinhtedothi - On March 27, at the Academy of Journalism and Communication, a National Scientific Conference took place with the theme "Education on integrity in the fight against corruption and negativity in Vietnam today - Theory and practice".
The workshop was organized by the National Political Publishing House Truth in coordination with the Academy of Journalism and Propaganda, the People's Police Academy and the People's Security Academy.
Speaking at the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Minh Son - Director of the Academy of Journalism and Communication emphasized that "the two words 'integrity' are always the most exemplary and noble embodiment of revolutionary cadres, and at the same time are the basic moral values of human beings.
The workshop is of great significance, aiming to raise awareness, share experiences, and suggest solutions to promote and improve the quality and effectiveness of integrity education, considering this a "root-prevention" solution in the fight against corruption and negativity - an uncompromising fight that our Party has been vigorously implementing in recent times.
In the introductory report, Associate Professor Dr. Vu Trong Lam - Director, Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House, Truth, said that integrity does not come naturally, but must be cultivated through the process of training and cultivating the ethics of each person. Not only cadres and party members need integrity, but everyone must build integrity for themselves.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Vu Trong Lam, corruption is considered a congenital defect of power, an internal enemy that not only causes economic damage, but more seriously, weakens the Party and State apparatus, causes loss of trust among the people, "is one of the dangers threatening the survival of our Party and regime". Therefore, the fight against corruption and negativity is a necessary and inevitable task; an irreversible trend.
Over the years, our Party and State have always attached great importance to the education of integrity, especially in the fight against corruption and negativity. However, in reality, integrity education in our country has not been as effective as expected, and has not yet formed a culture of integrity in the political system in particular and the whole society in general. Although there have been many studies on many theoretical and practical issues of integrity culture, there are still aspects that have not been clarified.
At the workshop, presentations from managers and scientists clarified theoretical and practical issues on integrity education such as: The role, importance and core values of integrity; the relationship between integrity education and the prevention and fight against corruption and negativity; the factors that constitute and influence integrity education; the experiences of countries around the world on integrity education, associated with building Vietnamese people in the new era, building an effective, efficient and productive political system, towards a new era of national development.
Along with that, experts and scientists also assessed the current status of integrity education in Vietnam in general, in ministries, sectors and localities in particular; analyzed methods, forms, philosophies, objectives, content and educational programs, learning materials, effectiveness of integrity education; issues raised and lessons learned about integrity education.
In addition, it proposes orientations and solutions to improve the effectiveness of integrity education associated with the fight against corruption and negativity in the coming time; as well as promoting the value of integrity education in building Vietnamese people in the new era in general, building a team of "both red and professional" cadres in particular in a lean, compact, strong, efficient, effective, and efficient political system...
Speaking at the conclusion of the workshop, Prof. Dr. Le Van Loi - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, assessed that the enthusiastic opinions of scientists and managers at the workshop comprehensively analyzed the context, the world and domestic situation, new requirements and issues for integrity education associated with the fight against corruption.
From there, managers and scientists proposed practical solutions and recommendations to continue promoting and improving the quality of integrity education, especially for cadres and party members in our country in the coming time. That is: it is necessary to continue raising awareness of Party committees at all levels, party organizations, agencies in the political system, cadres, party members and the whole society about integrity and the particularly important role of integrity education.
Along with that, perfect the institutions, mechanisms and policy system on integrity education. Synchronously deploy the inclusion of integrity education content in annual training and development programs for cadres, civil servants and public employees; at the same time, add integrity criteria as a mandatory requirement in the assessment of ethics and public service discipline...
After the workshop, researchers, policy makers, state managers and scientists will be able to supplement scientific and practical arguments, contributing to promoting and improving the effectiveness of integrity education, fighting against corruption and negativity in Vietnam today.
