Many new products for Tet

We also increase production to provide the necessary amount of goods for people during Tet and the policy of price stabilization".
Regarding rice paper products, Mr. Dang Khanh Duy - Director of Tan Nhien Company Limited - said that this year the company opened a new factory, specializing in providing two new product lines: rice paper dipped in water and rice paper fried with spring rolls. These are all traditional products favored by Vietnamese people during Tet.
“This year, we prepare goods earlier, workers have to work at full capacity. We will produce Tet goods from October 2023, expected output to increase by about 30-40% compared to last year,” said Mr. Duy.
Regarding Kido Group's new products for Tet, Mr. Tran Le Nguyen - General Director of Kido - said that as Tet is approaching, the unit is developing essential product sets that go together including cooking oil, seasoning powder, fish sauce, margarine, etc. to help points of sale and consumers have more choices and diversify product experiences.
According to some retailers, thanks to new products with many promotions from 50% - 70%, purchasing power in the first weeks of January 2024 is increasing slightly. However, compared to the same period in 2023, purchasing power is still lower, as consumers are still in the trend of "tightening their belts".
Ready to adapt to the market
Forecasting that the Tet market this year will have many difficulties, businesses have prepared goods many months in advance to proactively adjust plans and have solutions to adapt to fluctuations.
According to Ms. Pham Thi Huan - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Ba Huan Joint Stock Company, the company has planned to increase the supply of goods for Tet by about 10% compared to Tet 2023. Currently, the company is both producing and selling goods while observing the market to proactively adjust the plan. It is expected that in the 2 days before Tet, businesses stabilizing the market for poultry eggs will simultaneously reduce prices deeply.
Mr. Le Huu Tinh - representative of the Emart retail system - said that the discount rate of Emart supermarkets this time is up to 80%. After that, the supermarket continues to have a big promotion of 3,000 more products for the 2024 Tet season lasting about 1 month until Tet, still with a promotion rate of up to 80%. This is an opportunity for consumers to take advantage of shopping before Tet with attractive prices and many incentive programs for all product categories.
Retailers said they will continue to coordinate with manufacturing enterprises to increase discount and promotion programs to attract customers in the current difficult economic context.
The Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City also informed that from now until Lunar New Year, the unit will continue to monitor and evaluate the market, especially for products with the potential for sudden increase in demand during Tet, proactively have plans to stabilize the market, not to interrupt supply.
