Responding to VTC News, Colonel Bui Van Thao, Director of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police, said that on September 16, the Provincial Police visited and encouraged Lieutenant Do Hong Ngoc (officer of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Team of Vung Tau City Police) who was injured while performing his duties and is being treated at Vung Tau General Hospital.

"Currently, Lieutenant Do Hong Ngoc's health is stable. Regarding the above incident, the Investigation Police Agency of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province will provide specific information later," said Colonel Thao.
Previously, at around 12:10 p.m. on September 15, in the area of Phan Huy Chu Street (Ward 2, Vung Tau City), the functional forces of Vung Tau City Police organized to arrest Dang Quoc Hung (born in 1993, residing in Thang Nhat Ward, Vung Tau City). According to the Investigation Police Agency of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Police, Dang Quoc Hung is a suspect in illegal drug trafficking.
During the arrest, Hung did not comply with the request for inspection and used a prepared knife to stab Lieutenant Do Hong Ngoc multiple times. After seriously injuring Lieutenant Ngoc, Hung immediately fled the scene.
On the same day, Vung Tau City Police organized a search and arrested Dang Quoc Hung while he was on the run.
