VinFuture Prize 2024: Honoring groundbreaking projects that change the world

On the evening of December 6, the VinFuture 2024 Award Ceremony took place at the Hoan Kiem Theater (Hanoi) with the participation of Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and hundreds of outstanding scientists from around the world. This year's award, with a total value of nearly 115 billion VND (4.5 million USD), honors breakthrough works in the fields of science, technology, medicine, artificial intelligence, environment and many other important industries.

The VinFuture 2024 Special Prize for Scientists from Developing Countries was awarded to Bangladeshi PhD Firdausi Qadri for her work on “Innovation and improvement of oral cholera vaccines in developing countries”, aiming to end the global cholera epidemic. The VinFuture 2024 Special Prize for Female Scientists was awarded to Professor Kristi Anseth - a scientist from the US for her advances in polymer material design and methods for biomedical applications. The VinFuture 2024 Special Prize for Scientists Researching New Fields was awarded to Professor Zelig Eshhar (Israel), Professor Carl H. June (USA) and Professor Michel Sadelain (USA) for their work on developing CAR-T cell therapy to treat cancer and other diseases.
