Billionaire Jensen Huang reveals why NVIDIA chose Vietnam as its 'second home': Vietnam is the world's second largest supplier of software engineers.
Want to attract excellent Vietnamese software engineers
VinFuture Foundation has just published an interview with Mr. Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, who has just been awarded the VinFuture 2024 main prize, in which the NVIDIA CEO said why the world's leading technology corporation chose Vietnam as its "second home". Sharing his feelings about being awarded the VinFuture 2024 main prize along with 4 of the world's leading scientists in AI and deep learning, Mr. Jensen Huang said: "I am really touched! Vietnam has initiated a meaningful award of the stature of the Nobel Prize to honor breakthrough scientific achievements and connect with global scientists. VinFuture also gathered the award council of the world's leading scientists. Therefore, being nominated and awarded the VinFuture Prize is a great honor for me".Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Mr. Jensen Huang at the event where the Vietnamese Government and NVIDIA signed an agreement to open the R&D Center and AI Data Center. What to do to prevent AI disasters?
Faced with concerns that AI could take away human jobs and threaten the future of humanity, NVIDIA CEO shared: "AI really brings superior power, but it does not completely replace humans. AI can take on about 80% of the tasks in a job, but not all of them. The reason is very simple: there are factors that AI will never have, such as empathy, kindness or desire - the core things that create human value.Mr. Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA (3rd from right) interacts with staff of VinFuture Foundation. Regarding the potential risks from AI, Mr. Huang gave the example of the automobile manufacturing industry, a car built today is much safer than the cars built 50 years ago, 100 years ago, because today's technology is better. So if you want AI to be safe, the first thing to do is build better technology. "And AI researchers around the world are working hard to improve the accuracy, reasoning ability, and alignment of AI with core human values," Mr. Huang said. Mr. Huang also recommended: "We also need to make sure that AI only does the right jobs for which it was designed and is not misused. For example, an AI designed to develop chips should not be used for accounting or marketing. The future AI ecosystem needs to have many monitoring tools, where an AI is surrounded by other AIs to ensure that it performs the right tasks."
Mr. Jensen Huang, born in 1963, is the founder of NVIDIA - the world's largest manufacturer of graphics processing products. NVIDIA's chips are the backbone of the $500 billion AI hardware industry, with more than 80% market share. As the leader of a company at the forefront of the AI wave, Mr. Jensen Huang is being "rolled out the red carpet" by countries hoping to attract investment from NVIDIA.
