On December 7, the VinFuture 2024 winners had a meaningful and inspiring exchange session with hundreds of students, young scientists, and the startup community at VinUni University (Gia Lam, Hanoi). Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Professor Yann LeCun, Director of Artificial Intelligence Science at Meta, one of the scientists who laid the foundation for AI, emphasized that Vietnam is a country with many talented young people, with many development prospects. He said that AI technology is developing very quickly thanks to industries around the world, but current technology is still very limited. The expert suggested that Vietnam can take advantage of its human and policy advantages to promote the development of technology, especially focusing on unexplored areas, and then accelerate. "The opportunities for Vietnamese students, masters and PhD students are extremely open to contribute to the development of AI," Professor LeCun shared. Sending a message to the young generation of Vietnamese science lovers, Professor LeCun said: "Ask yourself: Is there anything that humanity has not done? Is there anything that AI has not solved to bring humanity to new heights?" Professor LeCun also advised that Vietnam should move towards a model of building research labs at universities, and even at companies in related fields. According to him, this plays an important role in building an ecosystem for startups, as well as opportunities to apply technology for everyone.

Professor Yoshua Bengio, founder of the Mila Research Institute, Montreal (Canada), also emphasized the infrastructure factor. He said: "To develop AI, we will need resources in terms of scientists and resources in terms of infrastructure". "We will need to invest quite a lot in infrastructure. If Vietnam can do this well, other countries can even see you as a model to follow", Professor Yoshua Bengio said. The expert believes that Vietnam is very interested in science and technology, not only from the government's perspective but also from the people in general. According to this expert, this is the core factor towards an open future. He emphasized: "Find ways to apply AI to real life. Science needs to serve the community, and young people are the ones who do that".

Hinton, Professor Fei-Fei Li, and Mr. Jen-Hsun Huang received the VinFuture Grand Prize worth 3 million USD, honoring their groundbreaking contributions to advancing the advancement of Deep Learning.
