NDO - On November 15, in Ho Chi Minh City, Tan Phat Saigon Equipment Company Limited (Tan Phat Etek) organized a workshop on "Technological solutions for professional equipment and tools for maintenance, repair and charging of electric cars".


Attended by experts, lecturers from universities, colleges, vocational schools in the southern region and more than 150 businesses operating in the field of providing services in the automotive industry.

In recent years, the electric vehicle market as well as the infrastructure for electric vehicles are witnessing strong changes, developing green transportation to meet the goal of achieving Net Zero 2050 set by the Government.

Mr. Le Lap Son, Deputy Director of Tan Phat Etek Company said: "To seize the opportunities from the growth of the electric vehicle market, the increasing demand for electric vehicle repair and maintenance services requires repair and maintenance service units to constantly improve the quality of their staff, invest in modern, suitable and safe facilities and equipment".

At the workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Van Cuong, Vice Principal, Head of the Faculty of Automotive Technology, Binh Duong University, informed about the development trend of electric cars in countries around the world and the development trend in Vietnam in recent times.

Accordingly, in the world, electric vehicles have appeared since 2015 with about 600 thousand vehicles; by 2021, they reached 6.4 million vehicles; in 2024, they reached 15.7 million vehicles and by 2025, the world is expected to reach 19.5 million vehicles (source: IDTechEx research).

Notably, in the Chinese market, in 2020, the proportion of electric vehicles accounted for 5.4% of the total domestic vehicle volume, but by July 2024, the proportion of electric vehicles had skyrocketed to 51%.

In the Vietnamese market, electric cars will start appearing in 2022, accounting for 1.5% of the total domestic car volume, increasing to 9.4% by 2023 and reaching 12% by July 2024.

According to Decision No. 876/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister dated July 22, 2022, the Vietnamese Government has set a roadmap for the "Green Transformation". Specifically, by 2025, 100% of buses in circulation will be converted to electric vehicles. By 2030, 100% of taxis will be converted to electric vehicles, and by 2040, the production and import of vehicles using fossil fuels will stop. And the goal is that by 2050, 100% of vehicles will be converted to electric vehicles.

With the aim of supporting and coordinating the development of green transport infrastructure in Vietnam, towards achieving the Net Zero 2050 goal, realizing the important role of facilities and businesses providing services for cars, Tan Phat Etek experts have pioneered in researching and introducing many solution packages to upgrade infrastructure such as: factories, charging stations, facilities and solutions to improve the qualifications of technical staff.

Within the framework of the workshop program, there will also be experimental activities for businesses to directly experience and evaluate the effectiveness of investment plans, changes and development of green transport infrastructure in the coming time.

Following the success of this workshop, Tan Phat Etek will organize more events and workshops with similar topics in other areas nationwide with the aim of promoting the development of green transport infrastructure in the fastest, most comprehensive and effective way in accordance with the Government's orientation.
