On the morning of April 19, the Provincial Steering Committee for Food Safety and Security held a ceremony to launch the Month of Action for Food Safety with the theme "Ensuring food safety, focusing on safety in collective kitchens, catering services and street food".

The launching ceremony of the Food Safety Action Month with the theme “Ensuring food safety, focusing on safety in collective kitchens, catering services and street food” aims to promote propaganda, education, raise awareness, identify responsibilities and actions of Party committees, Party organizations, cadres, Party members and People in ensuring food security and safety. Promote the role and responsibility of organizations, individuals and enterprises in enforcing food safety laws, promptly informing about safe, high-quality food supply chains, establishments violating and posing potential risks of food security and safety.

Strengthen inspection and supervision of food security and safety; resolutely combat, prevent and strictly handle organizations, individuals, production and business establishments that violate regulations on food security and safety. At the same time, promote the role of authorities at all levels, management agencies, social organizations and consumer supervision in compliance with food safety laws for individuals, food production and business establishments. Improve capacity to prevent and proactively handle food poisoning and food-borne diseases in collective kitchens, food service businesses, and street food; minimize poisoning due to consumption of unsafe food.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Tat Thang emphasized the importance of ensuring food security and safety and acknowledged the results in ensuring food safety in recent times.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that provincial departments, branches, sectors, organizations, and local authorities continue to promote food safety; proactively inspect and handle organizations and individuals who violate food safety regulations in production and business; prepare necessary conditions and promptly respond when food safety incidents occur.
Food production and trading establishments and collective kitchens across the province must strictly comply with legal regulations on the origin of raw materials, hygiene conditions of facilities, equipment, and people directly producing and trading food. Increase the application of technology, prioritize the development of safe and sustainable green agriculture. Absolutely do not use chemicals, antibiotics not on the list, or banned substances in livestock and aquaculture. In particular, each citizen should be a smart consumer and actively detect and denounce food safety violations, join hands to act for public health, for a healthy and civilized society.

At the ceremony, representatives of departments, branches, localities and food production and trading units and enterprises also spoke in response. According to the plan, during the Food Safety Action Month, interdisciplinary inspection teams will inspect food safety management at localities, food production, trading and processing establishments in the area; strictly handle violations.
