World oil prices today
World oil prices fell sharply in today's trading session, September 2 (Vietnam time). WTI crude oil fell to 72.98 USD/barrel, down 0.57 USD/barrel, or 0.77%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 73.55 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 73.33 USD/barrel.
Brent crude oil was at $76.33 a barrel, down $0.60 a barrel, or 0.78 percent. Brent crude oil closed the previous session at $76.93 a barrel and opened today at $76.94 a barrel.
Thus, after two consecutive weeks of sharp declines, world oil prices continued to plummet in the first trading session of the week. According to analysts, oil prices fell sharply as investors weighed expectations that OPEC+ supply would increase starting in October, along with fading hopes that the US would cut interest rates sharply next month after data showed strong consumer spending.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On September 2, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities currently applying) are as follows:
The above domestic retail prices of gasoline and oil were adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of August 29. Accordingly, the price of diesel oil decreased the most, by 299 VND/liter, followed by RON 95-III gasoline, down 208 VND/liter. Fuel oil decreased by 194 VND/kg, E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased by 92 VND/liter. Kerosene decreased the least, by 84 VND/liter.
Gasoline discount today
Discount prices of petroleum products today, September 2, at some domestic petroleum dealers are as follows:
Pvoil applies discount rates on September 2: Oil discount 1,400 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,350 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,250 VND/liter. This discount rate is applied at Pvoil Dinh Vu warehouse, Petec An Hai, Cai Lan warehouse.
Tu Luc Petroleum discounts on September 2 as follows: Oil discount: 1,350 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,300 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,200 VND/liter.
MIPEC gasoline discount on September 2: RON 95 - III discount: 1,200 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,100 VND/liter; oil: 1,350 VND/liter at Mipec warehouse
Forecast of domestic gasoline prices next period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price adjustment period, petroleum prices will likely continue to decrease, by about 100-200 VND/liter.
Since the beginning of the year, since the price adjustment session on January 4, gasoline prices have increased 17 times and decreased 17 times. Oil prices have increased 16 times and decreased 18 times.
