VnExpressVnExpress21/11/2023

Each tael of gold bar this morning increased by more than 300,000 VND to a one-month high while plain round rings continued to set new peaks.

On the morning of November 21, Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) listed the buying price of gold bars up 300,000 VND to 70.4 million VND per tael, and the selling price up 350,000 VND to 71.1 million VND. DOJI Jewelry Group also raised the price of gold bars to 70.4 - 71.1 million VND per tael. The listed price at Phu Nhuan Jewelry Company (PNJ) is 70.35 - 71.05 million VND per tael.

This is the highest price of gold bars in the past month. However, this level is still 3 million VND lower than the historical peak of 74.4 million VND set in March last year.

Meanwhile, branded plain round gold rings continued to set new peaks. For 1-5 chi gold rings, SJC raised the buying and selling price to 59.3 - 60.3 million VND per tael. DOJI's Hung Thinh Vuong round gold rings were adjusted to 59.5 - 60.35 million VND. PNJ plain rings went up to 59.3 - 60.3 million VND. At Bao Tin Minh Chau, the Thang Long Dragon Gold plain round rings went up to 59.9 - 60.8 million VND per tael.

Domestic gold prices are increasing in line with the international market. Currently, each ounce of spot gold has increased by more than 13 USD in the past 24 hours to more than 1,990 USD. If converted according to Vietcombank's selling rate, the world gold price is equivalent to nearly 58.3 million VND per tael (excluding taxes and fees), 2 million VND lower than the price of gold rings and 12.8 million VND lower than the price of domestic gold bars.

In contrast to the increase in precious metals, bank exchange rates have been continuously decreasing in recent days. This morning, the USD buying and selling price at Vietcombank continued to decrease by 55 VND to 23,920 - 24,920 VND per USD. Compared to the beginning of November, the exchange rate at banks has decreased by more than 450 VND per USD, equivalent to a decrease of more than 1.8%. Meanwhile, the US dollar on the free market is still hovering around 24,560 - 24,650 VND.
