Experts say that the optimistic signals from the beginning of 2025 have led to a forecast of a prosperous year for the pepper industry. As global pepper production is likely to continue to decline, while consumption demand remains stable.
According to the Vietnam Industry and Trade Information Center (VITIC), India continues to be one of the world's largest pepper exporters. Major pepper producing countries such as Vietnam, Indonesia and Brazil are facing adverse weather conditions, reducing global pepper output.
Meanwhile, major markets such as the US, Europe and the Middle East continue to increase pepper imports to meet consumer and food processing needs. Global pepper consumption continues to increase strongly, bringing great opportunities for Vietnamese pepper exporters.

Experts say that prolonged drought in major pepper growing areas such as the Central Highlands and the Southeast is negatively affecting this year's crop output. In addition, the price of fertilizers and other agricultural materials has increased sharply in recent times, causing farmers' profits to shrink. Trade protection policies in the US and Europe may cause difficulties for Vietnamese pepper exporting enterprises.
Exporters are expected to increase purchases to meet orders to Europe and the US, which will create momentum for pepper prices to increase in the short term. In the international market, pepper prices are expected to remain stable or increase slightly due to limited supply and high demand in major markets.
