(GLO)- On April 6, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Que signed a decision to promulgate the Implementation Plan of Program No. 52-CTr/TU dated January 18, 2023 of the Provincial Party Committee on the Action Program to implement Resolution No. 06-NQ/TW dated January 24, 2022 of the Politburo on planning, construction, management and sustainable development of Vietnamese urban areas to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Accordingly, the province strives to achieve an urbanization rate of 35% by 2025 as set out in the Resolution of the 16th Provincial Party Congress; it is expected to reach 40% by 2030 and 50% by 2045. Upgrade An Khe town from a type IV urban area to a type III urban area; upgrade Dak Doa town from a type V urban area to a type IV urban area; establish a type V urban area - Le Thanh International Border Gate town (Duc Co district); complete and submit for approval the Project to establish Chu Se town (type IV urban area); complete and submit for approval the Project to establish Ia Pa town (type V urban area); complete and submit for approval the Project to upgrade Kbang, Phu Hoa, Ia Ly, Kon Dong, Nhon Hoa, Dak Po, Phu Thien towns from type V urban areas to type IV urban areas after 2025.

Regarding urban planning targets, by 2025, 100% of urban areas will have approved master plan adjustments. By 2025, the coverage rate of urban subdivision planning in Pleiku City will reach 100%, An Khe town and Ayun Pa town will reach 50%. By 2025, the coverage rate of detailed urban planning in the whole province will reach 40%.

In addition, by 2025, 50% of urban areas will have architectural management regulations approved by competent authorities; 100% of urban areas of type III or higher will complete urban classification criteria for urban infrastructure, especially infrastructure for healthcare, education, training and urban cultural works. The ratio of urban traffic land to urban construction land by 2025 will reach 11-16%; by 2030 it will reach 16-26%. Urban green space by 2025 will reach 6-8 m2/person; by 2030 it will reach 8-10 m2/person. The average floor area per capita in urban areas by 2025 will reach 28 m2/person; by 2030 it will reach 32 m2/person. Regarding communications, by 2025, fiber optic broadband network infrastructure will cover over 80% of urban households, 4G, 5G mobile network services and smartphones will be popular; the proportion of urban adults with electronic payment accounts will be over 50%.
