The price of live pigs in the Northern region recorded a simultaneous increase of 4,000 - 5,000 VND/kg last week, in the range of 56,000 - 58,000 VND/kg.

* The live pig market in the North recorded a simultaneous increase of 4,000 - 5,000 VND/kg last week.

Accordingly, live pigs in Bac Giang, Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Hung Yen, Nam Dinh, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Thai Binh, Vinh Phuc and Tuyen Quang have all increased by 4,000 VND/kg, currently being purchased at 56,000 - 57,000 VND/kg, depending on the region.

The remaining provinces and cities in the region have seen pork prices increase by VND5,000/kg, currently reaching VND57,000/kg (Ha Nam and Ninh Binh) and VND58,000/kg (Hanoi).

Today's live pig price in the North is around 56,000 - 58,000 VND/kg.

* Pig prices in the Central and Central Highlands regions increased by 1,000 - 5,000 VND/kg last week.

Of which, live pigs in Quang Ngai province increased slightly by 1,000 VND/kg, currently reaching 51,000 VND/kg.

After increasing by VND2,000/kg, the price of live pigs in the provinces of Quang Nam, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan currently fluctuates between VND51,000 - 52,000/kg, depending on the region.

Next, the three provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue all increased by 3,000 VND/kg to a common level of 53,000 VND/kg.

Traders in Dak Lak, Lam Dong and Ha Tinh purchased live pigs at prices of VND53,000/kg, VND54,000/kg and VND55,000/kg respectively - all up VND4,000/kg.

With the highest increase of 5,000 VND/kg, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces both traded live pigs at 56,000 VND/kg.

Currently, the price of live pigs in the Central and Central Highlands regions is around 51,000 - 56,000 VND/kg.

* In the Southern region, pig prices also increased following the general market trend.

Specifically, after increasing by 1,000 VND/kg, the provinces of Kien Giang, Ca Mau and Soc Trang adjusted the price of live pigs to a common level of 51,000 VND/kg.

Similarly, live pigs in Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, Vinh Long, Can Tho and Tien Giang all increased by 2,000 VND/kg, currently being purchased at around 51,000 - 53,000 VND/kg.

After increasing by 3,000 VND/kg, the price of live pigs in Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh and Vung Tau was set at 53,000 VND/kg. With the same increase, the three provinces of Hau Giang, Tra Vinh and Ben Tre adjusted the purchase price to 52,000 VND/kg.

Dong Nai province alone adjusted the price of live pigs up by VND4,000/kg, reaching VND54,000/kg - the highest in the region. The remaining provinces and cities have prices unchanged compared to last week.

The price of live pigs in the Southern region today fluctuates between 50,000 - 54,000 VND/kg.
