Chairman of the District Farmers’ Association Le Duy Hoa said that the program “Lien Chieu Farmers’ Shelter” is one of the typical activities, which has been widely supported and promoted effectively by officials and members of the Farmers’ Association in the past 6 years. Recently, officials, members of the Farmers’ Association, benefactors and clubs of the District Farmers’ Association donated nearly 33 million VND and 45 working days to support 2 members in difficult circumstances of Hoa Minh Ward and Hoa Hiep Bac Ward.

Specifically, the association supported the house repair costs for Mr. Nguyen Cau's household (Group 90, Hoa Minh Ward), a farmer member who suffered from a serious illness and had a dilapidated house, with 20 million VND and 15 working days, and Ms. Dang Thi Bich's household (Hoa Hiep Bac Ward) with nearly 13 million VND and 30 working days. According to Mr. Hoa, in the coming time, the association will continue to mobilize social resources to support the repair of dilapidated houses for poor members. Thereby helping families have a more stable life, contributing to the socio -economic development of the locality.

To effectively implement the program “Lien Chieu Farmers’ Shelter”, the District Farmers’ Association calls on cadres, members, clubs, and benefactors with the spirit of mutual love and support to contribute working days and at least 5,000 VND in funding. In addition to supporting house repairs, the association integrates policies and effectively utilizes resources to support farmer members, such as capital, plants, and seeds, to help them develop their economy.

Accordingly, the District Farmers' Association coordinated with the District Department of Natural Resources and Environment to organize a training conference on organic vegetable growing processes and the use of fertilizers and pesticides for farmer members in the district. Not only providing financial support and livelihood support, during the process of repairing the members' houses, the District Farmers' Association mobilized cadres and members to support working days such as: dismantling, digging foundations, transporting construction materials... Thereby, helping poor members have solid, sturdy houses, stabilizing their lives, gradually helping each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty.

Sharing her joy at receiving the money to repair her house, Ms. Dang Thi Bich excitedly said: “For many years, my family had to live in a situation where every time it rained, it leaked. Now that we have received support from the association at all levels, my family has borrowed more money and plans to start repairing the house on April 22. I am very touched and grateful to the benefactors and donors who have joined hands to support my family.”

Sharing the same joy as Mrs. Bich, Mr. Nguyen Cau expressed: “I am often sick so I do not have the financial means to live in a dilapidated house. Understanding the family's situation, the local government surveyed and proposed that the District Farmers' Association support 20 million VND and 15 working days from the program "Lien Chieu Farmers' Shelter". With the supported money, I will buy corrugated iron and materials, then hire workers to replace the roof, re-plaster the walls, and tile the floor."

Assessing the significance of the program, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Hoa Minh Ward Ho Biet affirmed that in the process of implementing the program "Farmers' Warm Home", all levels of the Farmers' Association promote the spirit of mutual love and support, every contribution, no matter how small, has great value. Every working day, every amount of money will contribute to bringing joy, hope and peace of mind to poor families. This is a program with profound humanistic meaning, demonstrating the practical care and concern of the Farmers' Association for the lives of its members, especially farmer members in difficult circumstances, encouraging them to rise up in life, to work with peace of mind, thereby creating motivation for members to strive to rise up in life.
