Coffee price today 3/26: Strong increase

At the end of the trading session last night and early this morning, March 26, coffee prices increased well on both the London (UK) and New York (USA) exchanges with an increase of 1.31% - 1.7%.

Robusta coffee prices at specific terms are as follows:

May 2025 delivery term increased by 90 USD/ton, to 5,591 USD/ton.

July 2025 delivery term increased by 87 USD/ton, to 5,579 USD/ton.

September 2025 delivery term increased by 89 USD/ton, to 5,533 USD/ton.

November 2025 delivery term increased by 91 USD/ton, to 5447 USD/ton.

Thus, Robusta coffee prices are at their highest level in the past 2 weeks and in this trading session, Robusta coffee prices have increased by 2,200 - 2,300 VND/kg.

Meanwhile, the latest updated domestic coffee price is at 133,700 VND/kg, down 100 VND/kg compared to the previous day. If today's domestic coffee price increases by the same level as the floor price, the record price of 135,000 VND/kg may be repeated.

This is one of the milestones that farmers look forward to in order to decide whether to sell or continue to wait for the market to stabilize.

Arabica coffee prices today increased from 110 - 140 USD/ton; delivery term May 2025 increased to 8,790 USD/ton, equivalent to 223.4 million VND/ton.

Notably, the increase in long-term delivery terms was stronger than that in short-term delivery terms, indicating that investors continue to see a shortage of coffee in the future.

The basis for this assessment is that Vietnam and Brazil continue to be affected by climate change and lack of rain, so the risk of losing the next coffee crop still exists.

According to the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association (Dak Lak province), the Vietnam Specialty Coffee Competition 2025 has just finished the sample receiving phase and finalized the number of 150 samples from 70 units across the country. Of which, there are 99 Robusta coffee samples and 51 Arabica coffee samples.

Compared to last year's contest, the number of entries increased by 6.

This exceeded the organizers' expectations as the price of raw coffee this year was twice as high as the same period last year.

However, the increase in the number of specialty coffee entries this year also shows that the community of specialty coffee makers is very persistent in their chosen path because this is a sustainable direction.
