According to the Ministry of Health's report on the Covid-19 epidemic, today, May 20, the country recorded 1,190 new Covid-19 cases. Since the beginning of the epidemic, Vietnam has had more than 11.6 million cases, ranking 13th out of 231 countries and territories. With a rate of 117,245 Covid-19 cases/million people, Vietnam ranks 120th out of 231 countries and territories.

Today, May 20, the country recorded 1,190 more Covid-19 cases

Health departments reported that on May 19, 302 patients were declared cured. Since the beginning of the epidemic, more than 10.634 million Covid-19 patients in Vietnam have been cured.

At treatment facilities, 85 patients are on oxygen. Of these, 76 cases are on oxygen via mask, 4 cases are on high flow HFNC, 1 case is on non-invasive ventilation and 4 cases are on invasive ventilation.

On May 19, 1 Covid-19 death was recorded in Tay Ninh. Since the beginning of the epidemic, there have been 43,202 deaths due to Covid-19 in Vietnam, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections.

The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 in Vietnam ranks 26th out of 231 countries and territories. The number of deaths per million people ranks 141st out of 231 countries and territories. Compared to Asia, the total number of deaths in our country ranks 7th out of 50 countries and territories; the number of deaths per million people ranks 29th out of 50 countries and territories.

Regarding the progress of Covid-19 vaccination, the Ministry of Health said that on May 19, an additional 4,900 doses were administered. Thus, since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, more than 266.35 million doses have been administered to people nationwide. Of these, more than 223.7 million doses were administered to people aged 18 and over, nearly 24 million doses were administered to children aged 12-17, and 18.682 million doses were administered to children aged 5-11.
