According to the Thanh Hoa Department of Health , immediately after receiving information that the provincial police had dismantled a large-scale fake medicine production and trading ring nationwide, the Department of Health's leaders directed functional units to conduct inspections and reviews at medical examination and treatment facilities.
To date, the Thanh Hoa Department of Health has not discovered any counterfeit medicine products in the counterfeit medicine production and trading ring that the provincial police have just dismantled being circulated at medical facilities.
Among the 21 products recently seized by Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, there are 4 types of counterfeit modern medicine: Tetracycline, Clorocid, Pharcoter, Neo-Codion.
The remaining 39,323 boxes include 17 types of fake products suspected to be oriental medicines, products with labels stating their intended use as medicines.
However, through initial analysis and testing by the Drug Testing Center under the Thanh Hoa Department of Health, the majority of the content in fake oriental medicines is pain relievers.
When patients buy and take these drugs (mainly for bone and joint diseases), they will feel pain relief. Therefore, patients will trust and continue to buy fake drugs without suspicion.
Regarding the group of fake Western medicines, no toxic medicinal properties have been detected yet, but they do not have antibiotic medicinal properties as the instructions printed on the packaging.
To produce the above-mentioned fake medicines, the defendants purchased raw materials such as starch, adhesives, pharmaceutical additives, bamboo charcoal, and colorants, then mixed and packaged them into medicines to sell on the market.

Mr. Do Thai Hoa - Deputy Director of Thanh Hoa Department of Health - said: "Medicines are special goods that directly affect the health and lives of patients, so they require strict management.
The above counterfeit products cannot penetrate the public hospital system because they do not have the documents and certificates to participate in bidding. These counterfeit products are mainly sold online and at retail channels."
Through this incident, the Thanh Hoa Department of Health recommends that people need to be alert when buying medicine, should only buy at reputable, licensed establishments, and should not buy drugs floating on social networks.
When buying medicine , people need to check the origin before buying. When detecting suspicious signs of production and trade of fake medicine, immediately report to health authorities and relevant authorities for handling.
As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , Thanh Hoa Provincial Police have just dismantled a large-scale counterfeit medicine production and trading ring.
Regarding this line, Thanh Hoa Provincial Police have initiated a case and prosecuted 14 defendants for the crime of "producing and trading in counterfeit disease prevention and treatment drugs".
Police seized nearly 10 tons of fake medicine and raw materials for producing fake medicine.
