These days, construction units of key projects in Vung Ang Economic Zone (Ky Anh Town - Ha Tinh) are focusing on working overtime and increasing shifts to ensure the set progress.
The road project from National Highway 12C to Formosa Steel Complex, Ha Tinh province, under the Socio-Economic Recovery and Development Program, was approved by the Provincial People's Committee for the Feasibility Study Report in Decision No. 2391/QD-UBND dated November 23, 2022 with a length of more than 3.7km, width of 60m, total investment of nearly 700 billion VND.

The completed project will gradually complete the infrastructure of Vung Ang Economic Zone (EZ), especially key transport infrastructure, connectivity, and traffic sharing; ensure traffic and transportation needs in the area; promote production development, socio-economic development; create conditions to attract strategic investors to invest in the EZ.
This is an urgent project, requiring basic completion of the project in 2023 - 2024. Therefore, although construction has just started in June 2023, the project has been focused on all resources by contractors.
Construction items such as: roadbed embankment, cement piers drilling, weak soil treatment, construction of works on the route... are taking place very urgently and seriously. Groups of workers are highly focused on their work; technical staff are closely following the scene to promptly direct the construction and adjust the items.
Units focus on constructing the foundation of the road project from National Highway 12C to Formosa Steel Complex.
Mr. Nguyen Van Dien - Site Supervision Consultant of Thang Long Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company said: "The road project from National Highway 12C to Formosa Steel Complex was constructed at a time of rather unfavorable weather conditions. Therefore, to ensure progress and quality, we have coordinated with the investor and contractor to implement the construction to the best of our ability; taking advantage of favorable weather conditions, working overtime, ensuring labor safety to achieve the set progress...".
The central main road project connecting National Highway 1, Ky Anh town bypass section to Vung Ang - Son Duong deep-water port cluster will start construction in June 2023.
The construction atmosphere at the construction site of the Central Main Road Project connecting National Highway 1, Ky Anh town bypass, to the Vung Ang - Son Duong deep-water port cluster is also very busy.
Mr. Tran Kien - Head of Project Supervision and Operation Department (Provincial Economic Zone Investment and Construction Management Board), said: The project has a total length of 18.45km, including 2 routes: the central main axis connecting National Highway 1, avoiding Ky Anh town to Son Duong port and the crossroad connecting Vung Ang port and Son Duong port to Formosa Iron and Steel Complex. The project has been implemented since February 2023, and has reached nearly 30% progress to date.
Construction units focus on lowering the height, ensuring it is consistent with the planned route elevation (belonging to the Central Main Road Project connecting National Highway 1, avoiding Ky Anh town to the deep-water port cluster of Vung Ang - Son Duong).
The project is constructed by a joint venture of contractors including: Ha Tinh Industrial Development - Construction and Trade Joint Stock Company; Hoang Ngoc Construction and Trade Company Limited; Construction and Installation Production Joint Stock Company 3; Dai Hiep Company Limited; Phu Tai Group Joint Stock Company Central Region.
Mr. Le Dinh Son - Commander of Hoang Ngoc Construction and Trading Company Limited shared: "With the determination to hand over on schedule in 2025, our company and the joint venture units have focused on machinery and human resources to construct the bid package items. Although the weather is unfavorable, with the constant encouragement and direction of the investor, the workers always try their best to complete the set progress...".
The central main road project connecting National Highway 1, avoiding Ky Anh town, to the deep-water port cluster of Vung Ang - Son Duong has reached nearly 30% progress.
According to information from the Provincial Economic Zone Construction Investment Management Board, in the period of 2021-2025, the unit was assigned by the Provincial People's Committee to implement 6 major projects with a total investment of more than 2,500 billion VND, of which Vung Ang Economic Zone is implementing 4 projects, including: Road project from National Highway 12C to Formosa Steel Complex, Ha Tinh province; Project to renovate and complete technical infrastructure of Vung Ang I Industrial Park; Southern belt road project of Vung Ang Economic Zone and Central main road project connecting National Highway 1, avoiding Ky Anh town to Vung Ang - Son Duong deep-water port cluster.

“With the drastic participation of Ky Anh town in site clearance and the efforts of the project management board in directing construction units to speed up progress, the disbursement rate has reached more than 75% of the capital allocated in 2023.
We are directing construction units to find solutions to adapt to weather developments to ensure progress such as: directing contractors to focus on casting components, reinforcing service roads and taking measures to ensure quality during construction during the rainy season, focusing on digging, filling foundations and road surfaces during dry weather; using the most advanced technologies to treat foundations, weak soil... to speed up progress but ensure the best quality of construction works", Mr. Tran Kien - Head of Project Supervision and Operation Department (Construction Investment Management Board of the provincial Economic Zone) added.
Vung Ang Economic Zone is one of the five coastal economic zones selected by the Government for concentrated investment. Accordingly, this will be the center of steel industry, supporting industry, thermal power and deep-water seaport of the Central region and the whole country, and one of the three international maritime trade hubs of Vietnam. The implementation of projects to build key routes in Vung Ang Economic Zone contributes to making Vung Ang Economic Zone the "nucleus" of economic growth for Ha Tinh and the country. |
