In the 2024-2025 school year, 6,482 students nationwide registered to take the national high school graduation exam, an increase of 663 students compared to the 2023-2024 school year.
The above content was informed by the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training on the evening of December 23.
Accordingly, this year's national high school exam will be held from December 24-26. With 6,482 candidates registered, the total number of exam councils is 68.
Selected candidates will participate in 13 subjects including: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Literature, History, Geography, English, Russian, French, Chinese, Japanese.
This is the first time Japanese has been included in the exam.
This is also the first year that the Ministry of Education and Training has applied the method of transporting exam papers through the Government Cipher Committee's system nationwide. The transport of exam papers has been smooth and quick.
According to the plan, the Ministry of Education and Training will announce the exam results at the end of January 2025.

This year, Hanoi has 260 students competing in 13 subjects (20 students per subject), an increase of 26 students compared to last year. The students selected for the team come from 16 high schools in the area, including specialized high schools, non-specialized public high schools and private schools.
Ho Chi Minh City selected 236 best students from 12 teams in the following subjects: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Literature, History, Geography, English, French, Chinese and Japanese. The students had 10 weeks of study and training at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted to prepare for the exam.
In the 2023-2024 national excellent student selection exam, 5,819 candidates nationwide participated. Of these, 3,359 students won prizes, accounting for 55.7%. Hanoi led the country with 184 prize-winning candidates. Ho Chi Minh City ranked second with 110 prizes.
