On the morning of June 12, BTS members were present at the 5th Infantry Division in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province (South Korea) to congratulate the eldest brother Jin on his discharge from the army.

After completing 18 months of mandatory military service, Jin became the first BTS member to be discharged as a sergeant.

Jin smiled brightly as he received flowers and warm hugs from the members after a long time of not seeing each other. The male idol clearly showed his joy and happiness when chatting with the BTS members.

Not only today's event, but also before each member's enlistment day, the whole group tried to be present to support and encourage their teammates.

Because many fans and reporters gathered at the training camp on the day of Jin's discharge, police and security personnel in the area were mobilized to control and coordinate, avoiding chaos and congestion.

Previously, Big Hit also issued a notice asking fans to limit their visits to Jin to ensure security in the area. Instead, they can watch via live video livestream.

One day after his discharge from the military, Jin will attend BTS's 11th anniversary offline event, Festa 2024 , held in Seoul and meet the Army (BTS's fan community) in person after a long time.

According to Yonhap News , the eldest BTS member plans to hug and greet 1,000 fans in the first part of the event, then interact and chat with fans in the second part.

Jin enlisted in December 2022 at the 5th Infantry Division in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province. After completing basic training, he was appointed as an assistant instructor for his excellent performance and exemplary spirit.

After Jin, BTS's second enlisted member, J-Hope, will also complete his military service in October 2024. The remaining members will be discharged one after another.

It is expected that by June 2025, all 7 members will return and prepare for the 10th anniversary event of the release of the album HwaYangYeonHwa released in 2015, an album of great significance to BTS.
