DNVN - On October 29, Emirates signed two memorandums of understanding with Vietnam Airlines and VietJet to enhance connectivity, providing more travel options between Dubai and destinations in Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
The signing of the MoU took place on the sidelines of the Vietnam-UAE Business Forum held in Dubai. Mr. Adnan Kazim, Emirates Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer attended the signing ceremony along with government leaders, ministers and business representatives from both countries.
“Increasing our collaboration with like-minded partners such as Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet is an integral part of Emirates’ core commercial strategy to better connect our customers beyond our own network,” said Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. “Vietnam is a market that offers great opportunities to boost tourism and trade as an important hub in Southeast Asia. Emirates has always supported the UAE government’s efforts to enhance the existing economic relationship with Vietnam. Emirates’ decades-long partnership with Vietnam Airlines has helped strengthen connectivity between Vietnam and Dubai. Emirates looks forward to expanding our presence in Vietnam and exploring further opportunities to expand our scope of cooperation in the future.”
The MoU sets out a framework for expanding cooperation between the two airlines, including increased connectivity on routes beyond existing interline routes, as well as the potential for additional loyalty benefits. The airlines will also engage in preliminary discussions on possible cooperation on cargo and technical services to provide a seamless passenger experience.
In addition, through Emirates’ MoU with VietJet, the two airlines will explore collaborative initiatives to boost tourism between the UAE and Vietnam, while strengthening trade ties between the two airlines. The MoU aims to enhance connectivity to popular destinations within VietJet’s domestic and regional network via Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and other destinations, while also providing VietJet passengers with access to Emirates’ global network via its Dubai hub on a single itinerary and unified baggage policy.
Emirates currently operates daily flights to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, using Boeing 777 aircraft, providing passengers with seamless connectivity between Vietnam and popular destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. The airline will add a second daily flight to Ho Chi Minh City from January 15, 2025, to meet increased travel demand ahead of the Lunar New Year.
