Bring corruption cases to trial promptly and strictly

The Office of the Investigation Police Agency delivered the Decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and execute the Order to temporarily detain the former Chairman, former Vice Chairman and Deputy Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Tho Xuan district.

Every year, the sectors in the internal affairs sector have coordinated to advise and propose to the Standing Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negative Matters (PCTN, TC) to concretize the Party's policies and resolutions, the State's laws in the fields of internal affairs, PCTN, TC and judicial reform. In addition, the sectors in the internal affairs sector have coordinated to advise on mechanisms and creative, practical and effective ways in investigation, prosecution and trial. At the same time, they have proposed viewpoints, principles of handling, coordination mechanisms to direct the removal of difficulties and obstacles in detecting and handling corruption and negative cases and incidents, and in directing the handling of emerging issues related to security and order, ensuring the correctness of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, in accordance with reality.

In addition, the sectors in the internal affairs sector have coordinated to advise and direct the effective implementation of the work of handling citizens' complaints and denunciations; advised and directed the handling of many serious and complicated cases and incidents of public concern. Regularly coordinate to monitor, guide, inspect, supervise, and urge Party committees and organizations at all levels to implement Party regulations and State laws on internal affairs, anti-corruption, anti-corruption and judicial reform. Provide and exchange information and documents on internal affairs, anti-corruption and anti-corruption; propagate and mobilize cadres, Party members and the People to implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on internal affairs, anti-corruption and anti-corruption.

According to Chief Justice of the Provincial People's Court Nguyen Thi Nga, in recent years, the implementation of inter-sectoral coordination in internal affairs and anti-corruption has created positive changes in the work of investigation, prosecution and trial. It is the synchronous and active coordination between sectors in the internal affairs sector that has promptly resolved difficulties in complicated cases, important cases, and cases of public concern. During the trial process, the principle of not wrongfully convicting innocent people, not letting criminals escape, being cautious in assessing evidence, and focusing on litigation in court in the spirit of judicial reform must be ensured. The court's judgments must be in accordance with the law, there must be no cases that are overdue by law, especially the trial must be organized promptly and at the right time to meet the requirements of fighting and preventing crime and effectively serving the local political tasks.

Thanks to good coordination, over the past time, corruption and negative cases have been investigated, prosecuted and tried by judicial agencies in accordance with the procedures and provisions of the law. Since the beginning of the 2020-2025 term, judicial agencies have discovered and prosecuted over 60 cases, with over 170 defendants for economic, corruption and position-related crimes; and brought to trial over 30 cases with nearly 100 defendants for corruption. Typically, on February 12, 2025, the Provincial Police and People's Procuracy issued a decision to prosecute and approved an order to temporarily detain Nguyen Van Su, Deputy Head of the Thanh Hoa City Urban Regulation Inspection Team and Nguyen Ngoc Manh (former cadastral officer of Quang Phu commune), currently a cadastral officer of Quang Dong ward to investigate violations of regulations on compensation, support and resettlement when the State reclaims land at the National Highway 47 Upgrade Project in 2011. Similarly, on January 20, 2025, the Provincial Police and People's Procuracy issued a decision to prosecute and approved an order to temporarily detain Le Van Bien, former Chairman of Tho Xuan District People's Committee; Hoang Loc Ninh, former Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee and Le Nang Dung, Deputy Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Tho Xuan district for the crime of "Forgery in work".

Previously, on January 10, 2025, the Provincial Police and People's Procuracy issued a decision to prosecute and approve the temporary detention order against Ngo Phi Hung, former Head of the Department of Education and Training of Quan Hoa district; Vu Van Que, former official of the Department of Education and Training of Quan Hoa district; Trinh Dinh Hung, former Principal of Quan Hoa Ethnic Boarding School - Secondary School and applied the measure of prohibiting Lo Duc Liem, former Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Quan Hoa district, from leaving his place of residence for the crime of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties".

Promoting the achieved results, the sectors in the internal affairs sector continue to coordinate to advise and propose to the Standing Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Anti-Corruption to concretize the Party's policies and resolutions, the State's laws in the fields of internal affairs, anti-corruption, anti-corruption and judicial reform.
