(NLDO)- Sam Son tourism continues to affirm its leading position in Thanh Hoa province when welcoming 8.86 million visitors, total revenue from tourism reaching more than 17 trillion VND.

Mr. Le Van Tu, Chairman of Sam Son City People's Committee, said that in 2024, Sam Son tourism will continue to affirm the province's leading position as an attractive, friendly and safe destination for tourists.
Accordingly, in 2024, Sam Son welcomed 8.86 million visitors, equal to 109.3% over the same period, reaching 104.3% of the plan; serving 17.27 million visitor days, equal to 109.6% over the same period, equal to 104.7% of the plan. Total revenue from tourists reached 17.1 trillion VND (equal to 140.6% over the same period, equal to 108.8% of the plan).
To achieve the above results, according to Mr. Tu, in 2024, Sam Son City has put into operation many new destinations and tourism products, creating impressions, attracting a large number of people and tourists to participate such as: Sea square and Sam Son sea festival landscape axis; SunWorld water park...
Besides, during the year, Sam Son cooperated with Thanh Hoa province's tourism industry to successfully organize a series of cultural, sports and tourism events, leaving a good impression on friends and visitors.

To continue to build Sam Son into a civilized, modern, and hospitable coastal urban area, according to Mr. Tu, by 2025, the city will accelerate the development of southern tourism with resort tourism and culinary areas to serve tourists. At the same time, the city will continue to create favorable conditions for domestic and foreign enterprises to invest in tourism facilities, especially entertainment services and high-class restaurants.
In particular, Sam Son will focus on researching and perfecting night economic services (night markets, walking streets...) to attract customers with high spending ability and long stay, with the expectation of shifting the number of customers in both space and time.
From there, Sam Son City set a target of welcoming 9.68 million visitors, serving 19.9 million visitors by 2025; tourism revenue is estimated at 21 trillion VND.
In addition to the achieved results, the leaders of Sam Son City also frankly acknowledged that tourism activities in the area still have some limitations and difficulties such as: Low service quality, low added value; encroachment on sidewalks and roads for selling goods; means of transport such as 4-wheel electric vehicles and cyclos are parked illegally...

Mr. Nguyen Van Thi, Permanent Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, said that from the achieved results, Sam Son needs to continue to focus on developing infrastructure and technical facilities for tourism; promote administrative reform, create a favorable investment environment to attract strategic investors and businesses with strong brands; effectively support investors in the implementation process to speed up the progress of key projects.
In addition, according to Mr. Thi, Sam Son needs to research and organize cultural, sports and tourism events during the low season. In particular, it focuses on mobilizing local tourism businesses to join hands in implementing the campaign "Sam Son Winter - sublime experience", associated with deep discount programs and rich supplementary services to promote four-season tourism activities. Strive to have at least one new tourism product announced and put into operation each year.
