(NADS) - In recent years, the art-loving public and the photography community have gradually become aware of the name of photographer Nguyen Ngoc Binh with many award-winning works and exhibitions at many competitions at home and abroad.
Graduated from Hanoi University of Architecture in 1970, he worked at the Institute of Urban and Rural Planning, Ministry of Construction; then, he did research and received his PhD at Bauhaus University Weimar, Germany (1987); returned to work at the Department of Industry, Government Office, as a senior expert, Deputy Head of Department in charge of the field of planning, architecture and urban development. During the long years of working in many positions, he devoted all his time to contributing to the country and society with the knowledge he had learned, putting aside his own passion for art.
In 2007, after retiring, it was thought that his passion and his old age were no longer enough for him to officially enter the art world. His family, friends and relatives were surprised to see him passionately painting all kinds of paintings with many methods of expression. In just 3 years, he introduced nearly 100 paintings to the public with an art exhibition in 2018 called "Emotion 1". The exhibited works impressed the art world and the public.
Mr. Nguyen Cao Luc, Deputy Head of the Government Office, a colleague working at the Government Office, exclaimed when admiring his paintings: " The paintings, we often think, seem to be difficult to blend between the task of State management, advising the Government and the Prime Minister on urban management policies that seem "dry" and the romantic painting on the other side. Yet Dr. Architect Nguyen Ngoc Binh still dedicates himself to the very artistic painting creation as he has excellently fulfilled his duties while working at the Government Office."
Passionate about painting and photography since childhood, along with years of cultivating knowledge about art and painting at Hanoi University of Architecture. Along with painting, he entered photography to satisfy his love for his homeland through trips across the country and many countries around the world. His unique photos of nature, country, and people were captured through the camera lens with unique moments, beautiful in composition, light, and profound humanistic content, highly appreciated by viewers after the solo art photography exhibition called "Emotion 2" in 2023.
Not only successful in architecture and painting, photography is also a field that he is passionate about. With the knowledge he has acquired along with his constant efforts, learning and improving his knowledge of technology and techniques, after 5 years since entering the field of Art Photography (from 2018 to 2023), he has won many awards and has been selected for many photos to be exhibited at Art Photography competitions in the country and about 50 countries around the world.
President of the Vietnam Association of Photographers - Tran Thi Thu Dong assessed the successes of Photographer Nguyen Ngoc Binh : " Although Dr., architect, and photographer Nguyen Ngoc Binh is old and entered the field of artistic photography quite late, with a foundation of experience in the fields of architecture and painting, he has soon affirmed his position in the photography world."
In a short time, from 2018 to now, with his passion and constant creative efforts, he has achieved a number of valuable achievements with many awards and participated in many domestic exhibitions, many international medals of various kinds and became a member of the Photography Associations: Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA), Hanoi Association of Photographic Art (HAPA), International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), Photographic Society of America (PSA) . ”
At the age of nearly 80, people still see him wandering everywhere, sometimes in the Northwest, sometimes in the Central Highlands and the Southwest... Warm photos of the countryside, muddy Central Highlands children in the "Mud Ghost" masquerade, images of labor production, wandering souls with famous landscapes all over the country and many countries in the world.
Recently, the public who love the art of photography was delighted when artist Nguyen Ngoc Binh released the photo book "Emotions 2" expressing the artist's passion and love for art photography.
