(NADS) - This morning, the first day of the traditional Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025 (January 29), at the sacred landmark of the Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia border junction, the Kon Tum Provincial Border Guard Command coordinated with the Provincial Military Command, the Bo Y International Border Gate Border Guard Station, and representatives of Party committees, authorities, organizations and armed forces stationed in Po Y commune, Ngoc Hoi district, Kon Tum province, solemnly held the New Year's flag-raising ceremony.
The flag-raising ceremony took place in a solemn atmosphere, imbued with the spirit of solidarity and determination of officers and soldiers to firmly protect the territorial sovereignty and national border security. The flag-raising activity on the morning of the first day of Tet by the Border Guard force, armed forces, officers and people in the border area has become a meaningful tradition, deeply expressing the love for the homeland, national pride and strong affirmation of the sacred territorial sovereignty of the Fatherland.

After the flag-raising ceremony, comrade Nguyen Duc Tuy, Deputy Secretary of Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee, on behalf of the provincial leaders, presented meaningful gifts, encouraged the spirit and sent the best New Year wishes to the officers, soldiers and armed forces. The wishes and gifts carried encouragement and recognition for the persistent efforts of the Provincial Border Guard Command, Bo Y International Border Gate Border Guard Station, Po Y Commune Party Committee, and the ethnic people of Ta Ka village in protecting the national border sovereignty.
Also on this occasion, Colonel Le Minh Chinh, Political Commissar of Kon Tum Provincial Border Guard, representing the Provincial Border Guard Command, presented Tet gifts to Po Y commune, Ta Ka village and Bo Y International Border Gate Border Post. After the flag salute ceremony, representatives of the armed forces, authorities at all levels, and officials of departments and organizations came to offer incense and ring the bell at the Truong Son Martyrs Memorial Temple in the border area.
