Returning to Bai Chay tourist area, which a week ago was the busiest place in the North, attracting thousands of visitors every day, witnessing the scene of heavy damage, hundreds of billions of dong suddenly blown away by the wind, everyone felt heartbroken.

On the morning of September 12, Thanh Nien reporters recorded that the entire Bai Chay tourist area was silent; many shops and service businesses were completely wiped out; the streets were filled with trash, scrap, and trees. Meanwhile, in some places, people struggled to coordinate with functional forces to clean up and overcome the consequences of storm No. 3. While searching for remaining items in the rubble, Ms. Vu Van Dung (35 years old, owner of Bao Ngan 2 restaurant, Ha Long city) lamented: "My store is estimated to have suffered about 3 billion VND in damage. Although my family had tied down the roof and doors, we did not expect the destructive power of storm No. 3 to be so terrifying. Many properties inside collapsed and were blown away by the wind."

Located in the center of Bai Chay tourist area, Muong Thanh Luxury Ha Long Center Hotel had a series of broken windows, many landscapes and trees were knocked down. "The high-rise hotel is located near the sea, so it suffered heavy damage to its facilities, estimated at tens of billions of VND. However, fortunately, there were no casualties because right before the storm hit, the unit evacuated all guests and staff to a safe place," said a representative of Muong Thanh Luxury Ha Long Center Hotel. Not only the hotel system, dozens of tourist boats were sunk at sea, estimated at tens of billions of VND in damage.

Meanwhile, on Ha Long Bay, tourist attractions were also severely damaged by storm No. 3. Most of the management and operation points of the Bay Management Board had their roofs blown off, damaged, and sunk. The Cua Van Floating Cultural Center was severely damaged, and 15 preserved floating houses there were sunk. The stone railing of the bridge leading to Thien Cung Cave was broken and completely destroyed.

To overcome the consequences of storm No. 3, the Ha Long City government has just launched a 7-day and night peak campaign. Mr. Vu Quyet Tien, Secretary of the Ha Long City Party Committee, said that this will be a peak campaign for the entire city to organize the collection and treatment of all fallen trees on main roads, clean up the environment, help schools, hospitals, landslide vulnerable areas, social security, and rescue. To carry out the cleanup of fallen trees and billboards on the road, the Ha Long City government has mobilized more than 2,000 officers, soldiers, and youth union members. Currently, in many neighborhoods, hundreds of people have volunteered with the functional forces to participate in overcoming the consequences of the storm.
