Speaking with PV Dan Viet , Mr. Tran Van Phuc, Principal of Mai Son District Boarding Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities, Son La, said that as a special school, this year the school was assigned an enrollment target of 70 students for grade 10, while the number of candidates registering for the 10th grade entrance exam was 189 students, higher than the enrollment target of 119, plus a number of students admitted directly due to their high achievements. At boarding schools, the expected admission score in 2024 will be higher than other high schools in the area. According to Mr. Phuc, the 10th grade entrance exam in recent years in Son La has ensured the classification of students.
"Regarding the school's admission score, we are currently waiting for the exam results, the results announced by the Department of Education and Training of Son La province, but it is likely that the admission score for Mai Son District Boarding Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities will be higher than every year, because the rate of applications submitted to the school's first choice is more than twice the school's assigned enrollment quota," said Mr. Phuc.
Teacher Duong Khuong Duy, who is working at Co Noi High School, Mai Son District, Son La, said: The math exam for grade 10 this year in Son La is easy and within the ability, but there is also a very clear differentiation. The exam structure has 2 parts: multiple choice and essay. The multiple choice part is relatively easy for students, just need to concentrate to be able to do it. As for the essay part, which accounts for a higher score, in the essay part there are questions of average and difficult difficulty, making it very difficult to classify students.

Currently, the Department is reviewing all the contents, the announcement of the 10th grade high school exam scores will be announced on June 13 according to the Department's plan.
Regarding the expected benchmark scores for grade 10 admission in Son La in the 2024 school year, the Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Son La province said that the benchmark scores will be known after the exam results are announced.
The 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year in Son La province has 17,797 candidates registered, an increase of 1,704 candidates compared to 2023 (including 206 candidates admitted directly according to regulations). The number of candidates taking the exam is 17,591. The number of exam scores increased by 1 point is the provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities. The Department of Education and Training of Son La province has mobilized 306 officials, teachers, and employees to grade the exam. The exam grading period is from June 4 to June 13.

According to the Department of Education and Training of Son La province, to ensure objectivity and fairness for candidates in the 10th grade entrance exam and to reflect the true quality of education at the secondary school level, the Examination Council provides specific and detailed instructions on the examination marking process to ensure it is scientific, serious, effective and in accordance with regulations.
Unify the scoring instructions to ensure accuracy and science, organize 2 independent rounds of scoring, unify scores in accordance with the regulations in Decision No. 475/QD-SGDĐT dated May 27, 2022 of the Director of the Department of Education and Training on promulgating the regulations on entrance exams for first-level classes, and strictly implement other regulations of the exam regulations.
