Domestic pepper price updated on March 2, 2025

According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), key pepper growing areas across the country have entered the 2025 harvest season, but progress has been slow due to weather impacts. The peak harvest is expected to be in late March or early April 2025. Meanwhile, import demand from the US, EU and China remains quite sluggish, partly due to the exhausted supply from the previous crop and the arrival of the new crop later than expected.

Experts predict that in the second quarter of 2025, China may increase purchases when Vietnam enters its main harvest season, helping domestic pepper prices recover. Conversely, the US may adjust its import pace due to large inventories remaining from 2024.

Although the market is in the adjustment phase, pepper export prices tend to increase, bringing a positive signal to farmers. However, the stockpiling strategy needs to be carefully calculated to limit risks from global market fluctuations.
