On the afternoon of July 10, Secretary General of the National Assembly Bui Van Cuong said that the National Assembly Standing Committee had passed Resolution No. 1090/NQ-UBTVQH15 on agreeing to prosecute, temporarily detain, search the residence and workplace; and temporarily suspend the performance of duties and powers of a National Assembly deputy for Mr. Le Thanh Van, Standing Member of the National Assembly's Finance and Budget Committee, deputy of the 15th National Assembly.
The resolution was passed by the National Assembly Standing Committee on July 10, at the request of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy.
Mr. Le Thanh Van
Mr. Le Thanh Van (60 years old) is from Hau Loc District, Thanh Hoa Province; has a doctorate in law. Mr. Le Thanh Van is a National Assembly delegate of the 13th (Hai Phong City), 14th, 15th (Ca Mau Province) terms and is a standing member of the Finance and Budget Committee of the 14th and 15th terms.
Mr. Le Thanh Van worked for many years in the National Assembly at the Department of Elected Representatives Activities (now the Delegation Affairs Committee under the National Assembly Standing Committee), the Institute for Legislative Studies under the National Assembly Standing Committee and the Finance and Budget Committee.
Mr. Le Thanh Van was also transferred to the locality for more than a year, working as Deputy Secretary of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee (March 2014 - December 2015) before returning to the Finance - Budget Committee, holding the position of standing member of this committee.
