Dong Van focuses on investing in educational infrastructure

BHG - Identifying improving the quality of education as one of the important tasks, Dong Van district has devoted many resources to building and upgrading schools in the area towards meeting national standards, meeting the needs of learning and educational innovation.

Dong Van district currently has 50 educational institutions at 3 levels: kindergarten, primary school and secondary school with 935 classes, over 28,800 students. In recent times, the district has increased the mobilization of social resources to invest in infrastructure; at the same time, effectively integrating national target programs, up to now, most of the schools have been repaired and newly built some items, ensuring conditions for teaching and boarding. The whole district currently has 1,115 classrooms; 298 teacher accommodation rooms; 325 student accommodation rooms and nearly 240 sanitary facilities... Schools are interested in investing and equipping information technology infrastructure to meet the requirements of applying information technology in management and teaching. Secondary schools have implemented online teaching and testing software. 100% of secondary schools in the area use teaching management software such as: Online teaching management software, VnEdu, online transcripts, secondary school graduation, admission to first grade classes, universal literacy education...

Lung Cu Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, Lung Cu commune, was invested in construction to ensure teaching and learning.

To ensure meeting the needs of learning and teaching for educational institutions, in the 2024-2025 school year, the District People's Committee invested in building 80 new classrooms, repairing 23 classrooms, building 20 new student dormitories and repairing 21 student dormitories; building 4 new, repairing 3 kitchens for students... The total investment cost is over 50 billion VND from the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas. In particular, promoting the socialization of education, schools in the district have received attention, support and assistance from sectors, agencies and units with the participation of all the people and have achieved positive results. As of January 2025, the Education sector received nearly 10 billion VND including both in-kind and cash to build infrastructure for teaching and learning.

Lung Cu Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, Lung Cu Commune is one of the schools that has been invested in building facilities and equipment to ensure effective educational activities. The school is reasonably planned, has a separate campus, fence, school gate and full of other works to ensure a green, clean and beautiful environment. The school has 12 cultural classrooms, 4 subject classrooms and 1 traditional room; the classrooms are built according to prescribed standards; there is a kitchen to ensure cleanliness, ventilation and hygiene; student accommodation, staff accommodation. There is full office equipment to serve the school's activities, convenient for applying information technology in teaching.

Teacher Pham Van Tuan, Principal of Lung Cu Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, said: With the attention and investment of the State, the province and the district, the school has been invested in basic construction to meet the requirements of teaching, learning and boarding for students. Thanks to that, the overall quality of learning and the results of students winning prizes in district-level excellent student competitions have been increasingly improved. In addition, the infrastructure is guaranteed, helping students to practice physical education, physical education and sports, which has helped the results of physical education and career education achieve many good results, contributing significantly to promoting the overall achievements of the school. In the past 5 years, the results of students with good and excellent academic performance have always been over 40%; the percentage of grade 9 students graduating from each year is 98% or higher; the percentage of students entering high school is over 75%... The school currently meets the National standard level 2.

In the coming time, the district will continue to direct the professional departments, communes and towns to promote socialization, mobilize investment resources for education. Gradually improve the quality of education in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
