Thereby, mobilizing resources to care for and give preferential treatment to people with revolutionary contributions has been widely deployed with many forms, specific and practical actions to launch and call for support for the District Gratitude Fund in 2024. Accordingly, as of December 2024, the total fund is more than 457 million VND.

From the mobilized fund, the district has supported the construction of a new house for 01 family of a meritorious person, worth 60 million VND; presented 87 gifts worth 99 million VND to the meritorious person and his/her relatives.

Create new jobs for 3,862 workers

Implementing the direction of the People's Committee of Dong Van district, in 2024, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of the district regularly promoted job introduction and introduced companies with recruitment needs to local workers. To achieve the above results, vocational training to create jobs for workers has received special attention from all levels and sectors of Dong Van district. Mr. Nguyen Van Chieu, Head of the District's Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, informed: During the implementation of Project 4: Developing vocational education and sustainable employment under the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Dong Van district has coordinated with the Center for Continuing Education and Vocational Training to open 31 vocational training classes, with 1,077 students participating.

The Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has also deployed 40 vocational training courses, with 1,391 students. Up to now, the rate of trained workers in the whole district is 51.36%, reaching 108.13% of the plan assigned by the District People's Committee. After training, 80% of students have jobs after training, creating jobs at home to increase income and improve the quality of life.

The effective implementation of vocational training and job placement has contributed significantly to the local economic and social development. The results of the review of poor households, near-poor households, and households with average living standards at the end of 2024 in Dong Van district have shown encouraging results.

Specifically, currently in the whole district, there are 7,098 poor households, with more than 37,000 people, accounting for 41.27%; a decrease of 1,684 households (10.14%) compared to 2023; 2,200 near-poor households, with 11,600 people, accounting for 12.79%; a decrease of 221 households (1.38%) compared to 2023. Non-poor households are 7,900 households, with more than 39,000 people, accounting for 45.94%. The multidimensional poverty reduction rate is 1,905 households, reaching 11.53%.
